I’m curious where are they getting your fob signal yo clone it? Are they just posted up in random parking lots scanning? Is this at home?
Once public Parking, once at home; both 100 miles remoted from each other

yes, I did. Ty
Again, you cannot remove the factory code. You can add, and change, PERSONAL codes, but the factory code remains.

Do you have video of this? I'm guessing they used the same repeater attack that's getting popular. I keep my car in my garage, but your faraday bags should help if this is what they are doing.

Is the factory code the same across all cars, or is each one unique?

I am curious if we could have an emergency password which would signal Ford to safely brick the car were it stolen.

Unique. It cannot be changed or removed. It was printed on a card and provided with the car at purchase.

The code is unique up to a point. A five-digit code allows for 100,000 possible combinations. Once the total number of Mach-E's exceeds 100,000, there will have to be some repeats in the code. There may be more than 100,000 already, I don't know.

The odds of a repeat mattering are quite low although not exactly zero. In addition, the views for EU zone and UK cars is different. There have been more than 100,000 Mach-e’s sold worldwide since sometime in 2022.

The keypad was introduced in 1980. So it's been on Lincoln and Ford vehicles (and Mercury) since then, i.e. 24 years. Yes, there are vehicles out there with the same code as yours...

This is why you don’t store your factory code IN the car…
Why not?

They have to get in the car without the code to get the code.

And if they can do that……. What do they need the code for?

At the end of the day, pretty much the ONLY thing you can do to protect your stuff is not out anything valuable in the car.

Faraday bag does nothing to prevent a broken window. And broken window is how my wife’s purse got stolen a few years ago at our kids soccer game. Crazy thing is that 5 cars were hit in a row, and there were 150 people within 50 feet of the cars and no one heard or saw anything. Middle of the day too.

If thieves want to get in your car, they can get in your car.

WAY back in the day... when I first got my driver's license, our family car was a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible. Some of my Dad's advice, was always to tell me not to lock the car, because if someone wanted in, they would just cut the top, and replacing the top would likely cost more than replacing anything someone might take from inside the car.

The keypad only has 5 buttons, so unique keypad combinations stand at 5^5, so it's just 3125.

Does anybody know if it's possible to physically disconnect the keypad by any chance? I am not sure how I feel about having this feature in my car if it's so broken, really. Like, has anybody gone to Ford service center for doing something like that?

Dealerships offer a security system that keeps your car bricked all the time unless you enter a security pin on start. You can turn it off by switching it to valet mode if you want.
