Just returned from visiting Yosemite NP since my wife had never visited being a native Californian which shocked me as I had been there many times as a youth...

Charging at Tesla Superchargers was the best thing about our trip.
Tesla network is amazingly fast, available, always working and compared to EA/EVgo - what a night & day difference!

The only lacking issue is that there are no L3 chargers in the entire Yosemite NP.
There are L2 chargers scattered around the valley but they are free & first come first serve.

We had to drive to many parking lots to find a L2 while we hiked.
Worked well considering we hiked a lot and by the time we got back, fully charged.

Using the reservation system online to even get to enter the national park, I found out that my disability placard allowed me to enter at no cost.
Ranger said that due to the ADA laws, I am entitled to enter any National Park for free - lifetime.

We spotted an official looking Yosemite NP Ford F150 Lightning walking thru Camp Curry on our way to Mirror Lake.

To me, this is among the highest and best uses of L2 charging. By all means, put it in parking spaces where people are likely to leave their cars for hours! Power it with a combo of solar and batteries!

In this application it's generally more usable than a DCFC would be in the same location.

Did you use the Ford adapter? I'm worried that for long sessions someone may steal it.

I went to Grand Tetons NP a couple weeks ago. We have been to YNP several times Under trees skipped it this time because of lack of DCFC near the park. I looked at both west and south entrances and surrounding areas. Just not a good option. Closest was Butte and Jackson and the Jackson one was partially off line. Nothing in West Yellowstone.

Outside Yosemite, I used only Tesla Superchargers.

Faster, more stations, no waiting and lower pricing (Tesla member).

As for theft, I'd doubted it since Tesla drivers tend to stay in their vehicles and those that don't, probably have Sentry feature...

I took my Rivian to Tahoe and Yosemite last August and got to use the free Rivian chargers in the park. They were mostly filled with Teslas.
