Hey folks - just joined the Mach E club yesterday! Super excited. I am getting ready to add a LVL 2 Charger to my garage. I have read a LOT of threads on which one to get. I just want to make sure I understand the general favorites of the group after all my reading. If I have it correct, the main favorites are Emporia, Charge Point Home Flex 2, and Grizzl-E. Is that correct? I am leaning Emporia and it will be hardwired to 60 AMP breaker.

Any others I should be considering? I have ruled out the Ford one both due to cost and the uncertain reliability - at least based on threads here. Thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Check with your local utility, see if they offer anything at a discount, bot my juicebox40 at $250 disount from GA power. I don't really need my home evse (charger) to have any bells and whistles, all it needs is to deliver the electricity to the car, the car manages it.

I've had the ChargePoint since 2021 with no problems and the Emporia circuit monitoring system both are quality manufacturers. One not on your list and should be avoided is Lectron.

Something is wrong here. 70 hours to add 128 miles?

I have a Grizzl-E that has a cable twice as think as the ford supplied cable. With a 50 amp breaker I always get mid 30 miles added per charge. Sometimes 33 and sometime 37 depending on the weather.

Another really nice smart charger is Wallbox. My house has 2 of them, so we can have one per EV, and they can load balance.

I'm guessing it's total time plugged in on charger. Not the actual charge time

Is that 30 miles per hour of charge?

Concur to check with local utility. Bought a ChargePoint from Puget Sound Energy for $300, then PSE gave me a $100 check for signing up to let them turn charging off during high demand times. I received a 30% federal tax credit. Bottom line, it cost me about $130 for a $600 CP EVSE.

My utility (Sacramento Municipal) sold me a Juicebox 32 A for $102, and I got a further 30% off with the tax credit. While 40 A is preferable, it has worked out well, and has adjustable Amps, so I have been charging at 12-15 A to maximize 12V maintenance charging.

I have a Tesla Universal charger and it's awesome. Will charge any EV.

Seconding Wallbox, mostly because they fully allow local control over OCPP and doesn't need the cloud. JuiceBox's corporate history has been a bit too sketchy for me. Emporia would be my second choice.

Don't buy a JuiceBox. Their software is crap since Jan 2023. Used to recommend, now I warn people not to buy.

4 months in with ChargePoint and like it’s simplicity and plug attachment quality. Utility company paid me back the $500 which left only a modest install fee from pro electrician. Jealous you’ll be able to hook into 60A circuitry. I had to use 32A setting due to also having a solar array wired into an elderly box. But by charging at night (11 pm to 6 am) I easily get 150+ miles of charge or more. Supposedly the ChargePoint cable stays more flexible in frigid temps which mattered to me.
