Last week I got my free adaptor from Ford and I feel like sharing my first experience using it. This was just a test run using the adaptor at a local Tesla station. Plug and Charge worked perfectly and it billed my account accurately. Overall it was a great experience but I have to admit I was only on the charger for 5 minutes. Afterall this was just a trial run.

I did get some pursed lips from the Tesla owners who were also charging. I tried to be friendly by head nodding and waving but they seemed uninterested even though the location I charged at was not very busy and I did not need to take up two spaces.

Anyway, I'm really excited about this and was really happy my first experience went exceedingly well. I can't wait to see what kind of travel opportunities this opens up.

Now onto the pics!

As you can see it wasn't perfect but I didn't block traffic even though I stuck out a little bit.

Adaptor worked great on the first try and didn't stick like some other have been reported to.

I know this isn't really accurate. I wish Ford showed this info in the vehicle not just the App.

Here is the receipt I got via email shortly after the session was ended.

Over 8,000 miles of smiles and it keeps getting better!
How does your app show going to 100% when you only have 43% charging? On fast DC charging my always says to 80% until I reach 80% then it says the time to 100%. ????

Used my Ford adapter to charge a few times at Tesla sites today without any problems. Really nice to reliably see the units ramp up to high speeds.

Ford Mustang Mach-E BlueOval charge network + Tesla network was amazing! IMG_5542

Not sure why it says that or why yours would be different. I just pulled up and plugged in. Prior to this I didn't make any setting changes in the FP app or the vehicle. I wanted the raw first hand experience.

I have the same experience. I've now charged 3 times at a Tesla station. First attempt, quick and easy, not one problem so far. Until EA & EVgo are more reliable, I may just use Tesla stations as much as possible.

add me to the list of happy campers with the tesla stations. Took a quick night trip up to Milwaukee from Western suburbs of IL. Could have PROBABLY made the trip easily without charging but as there was a Woodman's nearby with a Tesla charging station4 minutes from my hotel I opted to go check out the bourbon selection. While there a lady in a Tesla told me my charger would not work there as her husband had the same car. She wasn't being mean, just thought she was being helpful. She was a little it surprised when I plugged in and heard that great charging noise...

I had to laugh when checking out Plug and Charge at the charging station between the Walmart and the Home Depot in Chehalis, WA. This station has 6 EVGO pumps on one side of the street and 8 Tesla ones right across from them. I pulled into the otherwise empty Tesla side, plugged in and the charging started up right away Yay!

It was only then that I noticed that the only car at the EVGO pumps was a Tesla. I asked and the Tesla driver told me that they had an EVGO gift card that they were running down.

You do know that you can do that with EVGo too right? You will have to set it up before hand, but after that … you plug in and the charging starts right away, Yay!
