Don’t do limo, it’ll make it hotter than anything. Stay about 15% to darken and cut UV. Limo absorbs UV and heats up. (Unless they make a ceramic limo now, but I’d actually try to feel that tint after it’s been in the sun. Usually another customers car)

My wife and I are considering buying a Mach-E Premium and have been asking a lot of questions on these forums. (By the way, a big thanks to all the kind users who give us great advice.) I took a Mach-E for a long-ish test drive yesterday and noticed that there is no shade for the roof. In the past we have owned several cars with moon roofs. Even though we live in the Midwest, we always wound up closing the shade on the moon roof because we found that the interior seemed to heat up in the summer when the shade was open. I did a cursory search of this forum and I found lots of comments from users who like the roof, but could not find any comments (positive or negative) about the roof causing the interior to heat up. Maybe this roof has better shading than the old moon roofs. Are our worries unfounded?
During the summertime I was up in the mountains on a day where it was 94 degrees, and the sun was directly overhead. I put my hand up and didn't feel any heat until I was about 3" away from the glass, plus I could look directly at the sun and it didn't blind me. Very good tint.

It was very hot when I touched it during the hot summer in Texas. Radiation heat is real so the glass roof will heat up the cabin. Other people might say otherwise.

Im toying with the idea of using a 5% Limo tint on it . It would keep the "open air" feel while blocking some sun and adding another barrier for/from heat and cold.
Just not sure how easy that would be cuz you'd almost need to be like Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel ceiling laying on yer back during install
Or cover completely and add constellations like a Rolls Royce!

here's info about the coating the pano roof has. It offers UV and heat radiation protection. Interesting thing is you feel the heat of the roof but it doesn't appear to radiate.. At any rate, three georgia summers and no issue https://www.saint-gobain-sekurit.co...ure/enabling-sustainable-mobility/comfortskyr

Like Mach-Lee said here already, the Winter heat loss through the panoramic roof is a far larger problem than the Summer heat gain. Heat loss in cold / very cold weather means more use of the Mach E cabin heater... and running the heater will eat your big battery juice to a noticeable degree.

I live in Central West Coast Florida. Don’t notice it at all. Used film to match the front windows with the back. Cools quicker that any vehicle I’ve had.

Thanks to all. I see that the roof is not going to be a problem. And thanks for all the help with my other posts. I just told my dealer that I want the red one, so I'll be picking it up next week!

The Ford trainer said it has some NASA developed coating on it that helps control heat from the sun

I felt the heat ones in Orlando summer so my wife got the folded shades. I'm yet to use it because I hate to unfold and re-fold the darn thing. The heat is reasonable unless you have a headache. Back home in NC I never felt the heat was an issue.

I’m a new owner of a Premium model In San Diego - lots of sunshine. I was concerned about the heat and UV shining on my bald head. I really didn’t want the Panoramic Fixed-Glass Roof but I really wanted the fusion green and the dealer found one but it had the glass roof. They offered a free tint job and a free sunshade. I accepted both. I wear a hat while driving to keep the sun out of my eyes but I really don’t notice the heat gain in the car. I feel more heat through the windows. I’m happy with the tint and have not used the sunshade yet. I’m including pictures of the dealer supplied sunshade.
