I charged recently on the last leg of a road trip. I noticed that the % and mile range were not aligning to the usual breakdown of distance and battery. I charged to 80% overnight and woke up to a 324 mile range. I reached out to Ford and they referred me to their BEV team. I have not contacted them yet but wanted to post here for thoughts and feedback. I will update once I call BEV.

Also, I’ve charged to 100% before and never got out of the 290s…

Looks like your drive data’s been zero’d.

Happens sometimes, after software update or a random hidden occurrence.

I sometimes get into mine after 100% charge with upto 380 miles range on dash and just roll my eyes and say to myself “yeah, in my dreams”.

Within first journey driving, usually, style corrects the displayed range.

Why are you calling Ford?

Go drive the car. Range will adjust when you put in a destination.

I’ve driven many times since and there has been no correction to the % or distance. Wishful thinking that it could possibly pull that range, I’ll just keep in mind the actual limits next time I travel until it corrects itself. Still plan on calling the OEM since it isn’t something that should be the norm and “just drive the car” hopefully isn’t their response.

There are so many factors that can affect this number. Lots and lots of threads on this subject.
Go into settings and reset your driving history. See if that gives you the factory numbers you’re looking for.

Cut the fella some slack, he only joined Friday?

These things take some getting used to.

I’m 94,000miles & 38 months in and still every day’s a school day ?

Thank you all and yeah as the green pea here, bear with me. ? I did just get off a call with a BEV rep and he said there is no rhyme or reason, but the elevation of my last charge in the mountains could be a factor since the last leg of my trip was all downhill ?

I call it supermarket trolley syndrome - does what it likes, how it likes, goes where it likes, when & how it likes?

Put in a destination far away, and start driving. You will see a realistic number. Then, cancel trip, and watch it revert back to something...

The range estimate you are using is known among EV owners as a Guess-o-Meter. It know nothing about where you are going, what changes in elevation may be ahead, weather, speed of travel, etc.

Going downhill will do that. All you have to do is continually go downhill for all 324 miles and the range is realistic :).

I get how drivers new to EVs depend on the car's (and the app's) range estimate, but... don't.

The range estimate is at best a suggestion. The automakers do their best to take as many factors as possible into consideration, and I wouldn't call it useless. If the number is lower than you'd expect given the percentage of charge, then it's a great hint that your consumption will be higher. But, seriously, there's a lot that ultimately affects your range, including your own behavior.
