It looks like I can make it there one way. Anyone have charging recommendations? Should I stop closer to Philly?
I prob won't have the Tesla DC adapter yet, but have a NACS ac destination adapter.

Going to try DC charging at least once before I go.

This will he the 1st long trip. 55% thrilled 45% anxiety right now

It's a good idea to try DCFC at least once before you go so you know how to do it, and are sure that plug and charge is set up on your car.

ABRP says you could make it, but it's nice to arrive with some charge when you get there so stopping along the way will give you more options when you arrive incase chargers are busy or broken.

Plan trip in ABRP, check each charger in PlugShare.

Hey.... Maryland guy here. Consider this. Bypass using I-95 and leave DC on RT 50 and cross the Bay Bridge. Go to Lewes, DL and take the Cape May Ferry. Head north on Garden State Patkway to Atlantic City. Use a planning tool. The chargers at the Queenstown, MD outlet mall may be a good choice to "top off". These chargers are very close to Rt 50.

You see, I don't use I-95 unless I have to, and will drive more to avoid it. Yes, it may take a little longer, but the relaxing way is best for me.

Question - have you used the ferry anytime lately? Just wondering if the motion sensor on the ferry problem has really been fixed. Used to be, the alarm kept going off if you left the car.

I'm (un)fortunate enough to live in NJ and often drive from just outside of Philly on the NJ side down to cape may. You will definitely want options, but either route you take (ferry across the bay) or 95 into South Jersey you have options. Be aware that the ferry only does 8 knots, so it takes 90 minutes to cross the bay, and I think they run every 2 hours but not continuously so check the schedule before you go.

There are plenty of charging options along 95 in northern MD and Delaware, so consider a top off there. It's a little out of your way but the EVgo chargers on the AC expressway are pretty reliable although they only give 83kw. Around AC I would charge at the US gas on route 30 in galloway.

You'll definitely want to charge back up in AC and there are a few sites along the garden state parkway near where it intersects the AC expressway, but they are generally 1 or 2 plugs and don't seem to be as reliable as the US gas on 30 or the EVgo on the AC expressway. Just south of AC there are a couple of chargers I've never tried but with all those options you'll probably find some charger to use.

If you do decide to take the Ferry I would charge up outside Lewes and if that fails you can hit one of the DCFC sites in cape may or wildwood - the Sinclair gas station chargers in Wildwood are pretty reliable although also top out at 80kw.

Last time on the ferry was with a different vehicle. Hopefully someone can help you with this, because I would like to know it, too.

Oh I know, it's for work and they're paying for mileage and hotel, but they let me bring my fiancé for free and giving me a casino voucher.

This sounds like a nice option. I've been to the outlets you speak of and the ferry ride would be kinda cool.

I live 30 minutes north of DC (or an hour in traffic ?) and I went to Atlantic City in June in my GTnonPE on stock tires and made it with plenty of juice to spare.

I have my Tesla adapter, so I hit a Supercharger just outside of town, but there aren’t any decent non-Supercharger options in and around Atlantic City, so top up at the EA station in Sicklerville and you’ll be golden.

I drove to AC from Northern NJ a year ago. I Stayed overnight at the Borgata. I had my Ford portable charger, the Valet had it plugged into a 240V. In the morning it was fully charged. When I left I was told they were installing chargers.

Have a good trip! I don't like the agressive drivers on I-95. Now that the Key Bridge in Baltimore is gone, a driver has three instead of four ways to get around that city. Another reason why I would favor the trip through the Delmarva peninsula.
