NACS Adapter is Back! Shipping has Resumed, Ordering is Extended, and EV Sales are Up

First, we have resumed shipping Fast Charging Adapters (NACS) to our customers that have been patiently waiting. And we’ve extended the timeframe for Mach-E, Lightning and E-Transit owners to request one (complimentary) until the end of September. Customers who have an adapter reserved can check their reservation status, which continues to be updated and provide an estimated delivery for their adapters.

Second, we had a great sales month across both retail and commercial markets. All of Ford’s electric vehicles are performing at record sales levels this year, with overall electric vehicle sales this year up 58 percent over last year. For the month, Ford’s EV sales of 8,944 were up 29 percent, growing at more than twice the rate of the overall EV segment. Ford is America’s No. 2 best-selling EV brand behind Tesla for the month of August and year-to-date. It represents 7.4 share of the EV segment this month – up nearly 1 point from last year.

Data:

• Mustang Mach-E sales were up 6 percent on sales of 5,341 SUVs. This is Mustang Mach-E’s third best sales month since it went on sale in 2021.
• America’s best-selling electric pickup this year, F-150 Lighting sales were up 161 percent on sales of 2,654 trucks. Through August F-150 Lightning has sold 21,121 trucks
• E-Transit is America’s best-selling electric van on sales of 8,078 vans through August. Sales were up 7 percent in August on sales of 941 electric vans.

Bought my 24 last month, so I'm a part of those statistics. Deals were nuts trying to move excess inventory (I counted up and I'm on my 12th vehicle, and this was the only time I actually believed the sales manager when he told me he was losing money).

So, Ford lost their ass this month but did move units. IMO Ford has done good job with this as their first EV; I just hope there is a good enough incentive to keep development going and keep improving current and future options.

Jake is a Ford employee responsible for communications. He’s reliable. @ChasingCoral has been around the forum since pretty much the beginning and has been an invaluable source of accurate information. Remember though, on these adapters, we are always at the whim of Elon ?
