His "puddle light pony" is at an angle because it appears to be coming on WITHOUT his mirrors folded. I believe the "by design" operation is to only show the "puddle light pony" when the mirror is folded - which would show it parallel to the car.
tbh, I did not realize the image iminated from the mirror. good to know

Mine come on with the welcome lighting at anytime whether the car is locked or unlocked. When the mirrors are folded it is parallel with the car. If the mirrors aren't folded the ponies are at an angle like the OP's.

When unlocking the car, they come on as the mirror swings out and go off when the car is locked and mirrors are folded.

My puddle lamps come on more consistently with the fob rather than PAAK.

‘s what I thought when I saw them.

Wifey is definitely not impressed.

How do you justify something like this to the wife?

Can’t have a new washing machine because…….I want dynamic puddle lights for my car ??

Should’ve cost me c£250 but due to breakage cost me £380 in the end.

I love ‘em!

And regret paying so much not one bit ?

What is your problem?
I don’t have a problem. Do you?

My point with the quizzical emoji was the Ford reaction. It didn’t seem to make sense to me under the described circumstances. I think the puddle lights are neat. I’m glad OP is happy his turned on.

Honestly, I'm quite happy to see this, even if it's not "supposed" to happen like this. I'll just take it as a happy accident. It is funny that there are older threads about this feature not working at all, and mine just sort of turns on all of its own accord without even trying.
I am glad you’re happy to see the pony puddle light. I agree, they’re a fun feature. They make me smile. My quizzical emoji was oriented toward Ford, not you.

Such a cool feature. But I’m rarely out when it’s dark enough, the only place that would trigger it is my garage. But I keep my car unlocked, so no fun in there.

I often forget about it, until the rare day I’m out when it’s dark enough to get to see it.

Fun treat.

I'd love to know a Forscan hack to guarantee this malfunction.

Since I don't fold my mirrors, I don't get to see the pony.
My mirrors are always folded whether parked in my garage (i fold them on way into the garage) or when out and about (set to fold with locking).... the ponies rarely make an appearance. My kids keep asking to see it. One has, the other thinks the first one is lying.
