The issue was never about the pandemic, but about the dealer and what is happening on the official website. I think its great we have all these extra tools on the forum that people have built out of excitement for their vehicles. Clearly a lot of people feel passionate about the car and defending Ford, but jeez.... Its my opinion none of that should be necessary. The communication from the company/dealer should suffice.

I am a Ford customer myself, and actually own Ford stock, but I am also not being a straight fanboy or defending them when things are not to my liking. Thats only fair.
I agree with what you are saying and feeling.

Uh...NO. No, NO, NOOOOO!!! Tesla customer service communication is bad. Granted they are 'friendly' and try to be helpful. But you can't get your service advisor to return any calls or emails. Have to proactively call everyday to get any worthwhile status updates. I understand the currently situation is bad across the board for EVERYONE. Point is it's not a world where Ford sucks and Tesla is great. Most every company is down the toilet. Its like a war zone out there, they are doing their best to focus on the job at hand...which is to build and deliver the cars to all of us. Would be great if we have up to the second status & location update on each of our cars but with limited resources, what would you like them to focus on?
Interesting

Not illogical. Factual. Check out the slate of electric vehicles coming out in 2022.

Its just my opinion. You don't have to agree with it, but please be respectful. =)
We all need to respect others opinions even if we don't agree with them.

I am going to call tomorrow and see if I can get the VIN and try ro

Thank you for the positive feedback and thank you for your kind comments regarding my wife. Its nice to hear someone is having a good experience with their dealership. There are good dealers out there.

I am going to call the dealer tomorrow and get my VIN if its available. Then I will plug it into the VIN tracking tool.

However, if they tell me they will call me back and all that nonsense again like last time, I am going to call it quits on them.

I think people are misconstruing my words. The issue was never about the pandemic, but about the dealer and what is happening on the official website. Let me chime in and also thank your wife for being part of the health care workers in America. I have several family who are, and I am thankful for them and that they are getting the vaccine.

My dealer experience has also been very good. I have been buying cars from them for over 25 years, and they know me by name. Too bad there is so much inconsistency.

My build week was 12/22. Found out last week my car was built on 1/8. Just now waiting to find out when it will ship! Dealer seems to think I will have it early February. I had also ordered a FE Bronco Sport . . . also came from Mexico (I decided I am not buying it - wife decided on new floors instead) - BUT it is AT my dealer. It arrived at the dealer on 1/8 after being built on 12/23. Hoping the Mach E has a similar timeline!

Yea, so....

I reserved my car the day of announcement back in November 2020 and went through with my order on June 30th after they opened orders. After getting the reservation money refunded back to me, the $500 went back to the dealer for the order. Turns out the dealer is keeping my deposit as non-refundable.... Very lame considering I bought my F-150 from them and I do all my servicing through the dealer. Like thousands of dollars worth of business.

Received a build "week" of December 20th. Its January 10th 2021 and I checked my status. Not built yet. No update to the build date, either. Probably due to Christmas/New Year? No word from the dealer.

Visited my dealer in early December because they had a "show" car available to look at without driving. Let them know I wanted to test drive when they get a demo car. Dealer said I would probably need to schedule a test drive and said most likely it would be 15 minutes "due to demand". I ordered a car and you can't give me more than 15 minutes?? Jeez what does $500 get you these days. A lookie-loo and smell of the new interior?

Three weeks ago I asked the same dealer if I could test drive the new Bronco Sport and make an appointment to do that cause they had one when I saw the Mach-E. Dealer says I need to work with the same guy who is handling my Mach-E reservation. I say, "Okay cool, call me back?"

Not a word from them since that time.

I think I am going to lose $500 and never go back to Ford again. Seriously bad customer service and complete lack of communication, respect of people's time, and no loyalty to your customer.

Why am I being treated like crap? I don't get it. Like I am actively trying to be nice to these people and have been patient and forget about all the things that are annoying me, but I think I need to move on.
Feel the same here. Might cancel if no news soon, dealer communication is poor and not responding to emails and now we are under lockdown yet until feb. 8 so sales dept are closed at dealer, how hard can it be to buy a car?

Hopefully they will end the lockdown 8 Feb. You have a shipping date and ETA, right? You're almost there.

Not even a build date yet, that's why I'm after the dealer hope they work from home even if they are close. Would also like to have from Ford Canada wether or not we will get free charging and the price of Hands Free Driving options but they are also MIA, so my experience so far is not that great but I understand the Covid delays but I think now it 's just going beyond that. :(

Edit: In fact yesterday was my official reservation anniversary.

Well, if you own Ford stock, you can get an X Plan Pin from Ford and save a few hundred $$ on your purchase. Send me a PM if you need instructions for that. After you get your VIN from either the dealer or Ford, ask the dealer if they are going to accept X plan pricing. They would be fools not to, but then......

If you draw a blank on the VIN, use the procedure outlined in this post. You'll need your reservation number and a desktop computer:

I feel your pain. Unfortunately what you are mostly encountering is yet one more lazy dealer. My recommendation is you reach out to the owner or GM of the dealership to let them know. If that doesn’t work, email Ford customer service with cc: to the owner.

Have you looked up your VIN in the Tracker to check the status?
I am in the same boat, same timeframe, same lack of update.....
I do have a VIN, my build was supposed to have been 12/22, but I have no confirmation from Ford or Dealership.

I think it is a combination of Ford Dealerships not having dealt with the expectations of a pre-ordered product ever before, and Ford mfg not sending the Dealerships the update to confirm actual build or updating the online fields in customer viewable 'myOrder' area.

The Ford website indicates the framework is there to post the actual build date, ship date, est arrival date.... but they aren't filling it in or letting the Dealer's know.

It IS driving us all crazy, and it is 'very disappointing'. I have complained to Dealer, but they do not appear to have any new data. So, I let the [email protected] know how frustrated I was with the lack of update to my Dealer.... I could not find anyone else at Ford to give feedback to on this.

Ford doesn't need to tell the dealers what's going on with your build, they already have access to that information, and it's updated regularly. If they don't tell you it because they don't care, or they're too lazy to look it up, or they don't know.

My dealer called me today. He can see it was built (1/8) and is hoping for delivery the first week of February. Depends on when they get it on the rails.

Today, my «Primary Status» goes ''In Production'' from ''In Order Processing''. YES

Ce matin, le «Status Primaire» de ma MME est ''En Production'' au lieu de ''Commande en attente'' :)
Nice!
Your Secondary Status is "Sent to Plant" (almost certainly).
The various steps that comprise "In Production" are
  1. Sent to Plant (usually 3-10 working days)
  2. Body Shop (1-2 days)
  3. Trim Line (1 day)
  4. Produced (1 day)
Then the car needs to be Released for shipping. When that happens, the Primary Status changes again.

Hope this helps.
