I am in the same boat, same timeframe, same lack of update.....
I do have a VIN, my build was supposed to have been 12/22, but I have no confirmation from Ford or Dealership.

I think it is a combination of Ford Dealerships not having dealt with the expectations of a pre-ordered product ever before, and Ford mfg not sending the Dealerships the update to confirm actual build or updating the online fields in customer viewable 'myOrder' area.

The Ford website indicates the framework is there to post the actual build date, ship date, est arrival date.... but they aren't filling it in or letting the Dealer's know.

It IS driving us all crazy, and it is 'very disappointing'. I have complained to Dealer, but they do not appear to have any new data. So, I let the [email protected] know how frustrated I was with the lack of update to my Dealer.... I could not find anyone else at Ford to give feedback to on this.
Have you looked up your VIN in the Tracker to check the status?

My dealer called me today. He can see it was built (1/8) and is hoping for delivery the first week of February. Depends on when they get it on the rails.
I mentioned this on a couple of other threads but, me too!!!.....my dealer called Sat. 1-9 to tell me my Select was built.....he offered me my Vin, but I told him I had gotten it from big Ford 6-8 weeks ago......gave me info, when in paint, trim etc.....FWIW original build date, week 0f 12-14-20, changed to 1-6-21......no ETA yet, he will call me......maybe we'll get our cars same time, more/orless, haha......

Oh, I forgot, no change in either tracker, both still say "in production"

I thought the same, but if you look under the heading of "Production Date" further up, that is the date your car was "born" mine is 1/8/2021.

you are right, mine says 1-6-21, but down the bottom, I think "primary status" still says "in production", and the Ford tracker still no change.....

Today, my «Primary Status» goes ''In Production'' from ''In Order Processing''. YES

Ce matin, le «Status Primaire» de ma MME est ''En Production'' au lieu de ''Commande en attente'' :)
Je serais curieux de savoir quand vous avez réserver/commander? Merci

Nice!
Your Secondary Status is "Sent to Plant" (almost certainly).
The various steps that comprise "In Production" are
  1. Sent to Plant (usually 3-10 working days)
  2. Body Shop (1-2 days)
  3. Trim Line (1 day)
  4. Produced (1 day)
Then the car needs to be Released for shipping. When that happens, the Primary Status changes again.

Hope this helps.

They ain't great either but if there is an issue, you can complain to tesla/elon directly. While the dealer can just ignore you and ford cant do anything about it cause they are independent.
There are also lots of downsides to that, as veteran Tesla owners are finding out the hard way.
1. The direction to screw a customer comes from headquarters. Changing Tesla service centers does not help. Whereas you can go to a different dealer if you are to happy with your current dealer. Competition brings customer benefits. Moreover, OEMS often take feedback for your dealer experience to rate and reward their independent dealers.
2. For warranty repairs, dealers will be on your side as they get paid for repair work. For Tesla service center, warranty expense is just an unwanted item in their financial statements. Have you not heard of the battery gate and yellow screen problems of expensive Teslas? Tesla works really hard to avoid warranty expense, pitting customers against their meanest lawyers in arbitration. So many arbitrations that their lawyers have become friends with the arbitrators and customers don't stand much chance of winning the trials.

None of this is to say that there aren't any issues with dealers. But in general, it seems my dealer experiences here are much better than what I hear about Tesla's recent service center experience. They used to be great when Tesla was only selling expensive cars in low volumes and reporting losses. Not any more.

I just wanted to provide an update to this thread since I started it.

I have been busy all day working on treasury operations for my son's preschool (voluntary position but takes ALOT of unpaid time to get the books straight). Didn't have time to call the dealer.

However, something surprising happened just a little while ago. I got a text from the dealer stating the vehicle was produced on Jan 6 and I got the VIN number from them.

Crazy, right?! I wonder if someone from the dealer is lurking these forums....

All in all, I never expected that but its nice to get an update. =)

Shipping is less of a concern for me now since I know transportation is messed up. The postal service alone is dealing with record volumes since the pandemic began.

I’ve been very fortunate with my dealer. They are really great about returning emails and love talking about things with me (apparently most of the early info they had came from me via this forum).

Even this afternoon they responded immediately to an email. The only issue is I’m not sure they are tapping into the right tool to access the status. They tell me the system only updates on Tuesday’s and Friday’s. Does that sound accurate?

Same here with my dealer. I ordered from the GM and not a salesman and he is great about returning my texts almost right away. My wife and I just stopped in to say hi before Christmas and we spent about 30 minutes just talking (mostly about the Mach E). He is as much in the dark as I am about what's going on with my order but promised me that if Ford ever does release any information he will let me know immediately. He does have a software program where he checks and did know the dealership is getting their demo Mach E in January (scheduled) and when that comes in he expects the first 2 that ordered the Mach E in June will get their cars too.
