Occasionally over the past couple weeks, I’ve noticed two chimes emitted from around the center screen while driving (two of the same note within a second). It’s relatively loud, but there is no accompanying alert or other text on either the driver display or the main center screen, so I don’t know what the car is trying to tell me. My search of the owner’s manual didn’t provide any answers. Anybody else experience this or know what is going on?

Maybe take a video? I hear a melodic “doo di dooo, doo di dooo” every time I start the car. That’s just the Mach e saying hi to me.

I haven’t found a consistent pattern of when it happens yet, but it’s while driving. I know the doo-de-doo well, whenever I start it up and I’m either not buckled yet or there’s a door still open.

This one is more like a flat BONG-BONG sound that lasts a second and goes away.

Probably a traffic alert from the onboard navigation system (even if not in use at the time). I get that double bong sound from time to time too.
Thanks! I thought this might be the case, and I looked through the navigation settings for a way to disable this. Couldn’t find it though.

Are you using the onboard navigation system at the time? I get a double chime when I am nearing an exit and I have the voice commands turned off. When I am not navigating I will hear a similar warning sound if the car thinks I don't have my hands on the wheel, whereas I do have my hands on the wheel but may be a steadier driver than the computer expects me to be.

My first thought is the noise I hear from the "school zone" or red light / speed camera noise. Both can be configured in the settings.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I can't find a video with the notification sound but at this timestamp I -think- it might be similar to the noise starting nav: (1 minute 42 seconds if link doesn't take you there).

I don't mind the notification and think it's helpful so I hear it all the time as I drive through at least 2 of these zones daily.

I’m usually using either Apple Maps with alerts turned off or Waze with alerts only through wireless CarPlay. Today, it happened when I was going through an intersection (no camera) and not nearing a turn or exit.

Could be something like that. It happened today at a red light that doesn’t have a camera, but the map might think there’s one there.

I rarely use the Ford Nav system and prefer Android Auto and this will still happen in the background. I do see a little popup in the top with the notification too but I distinctly recall a time when that didn't happen or perhaps it didn't happen when I had other apps running in the foreground (rarely, 99% of the time it's AA).

Thanks for all the help! I think I saw that suggested destinations might have still been turned on in the Ford nav settings, even though I don’t use it. I’ll try to change one or two options to see what works.

Like someone else suggested, it could be a school zone warning. The Ford built-in navigation, Apple Maps and Waze all have the option to turn that off. I would check all three.

It doesn’t matter if you do disable the suggested places feature, it will turn itself back on again at some point.

Easier to just ignore the occasional double dings.

Thanks! You’re probably right, as much as these settings like to change themselves after updates. Good to know it is most likely related to navigation and no faults or other issues.
