I've gone through pages and pages of this board and still feel the need to post asking for help.

I am looking for a good hardwired charger. If you have a hardwired charger that you think works well with your Mach-e would you post below and I'll do more recon into those models.

All help is appreciated.

I have not been here the past few years, so I'll ask you how your question is equally helpful?

As I posted above, I have looked through pages of threads and still am hoping to have a few helpful suggestions.

I am trying to make an educated decision, and the members of this community seem to be very helpful. I'm sorry if my need for help was an inconvenience to you.

I looked and did not see a sticky thread about chargers, which would be most helpful.

I have his page bookmarked, was going to watch his reviews on models that people here endorse. Thanks for the reply - it tells me that he's viewed as a reliable source.

The site's search function (and Google/Bing) are actually pretty good at locating discussions on this topic. Here's a starter as an example:

There's nothing special about the Mustang Mach-E with regards to EVSEs, so suggestions to take a look at Tom's YouTube channel are really your best bet.

That I did not know - super helpful.

You're welcome. You'll see a mixture of opinions on some of the popular chargers such as the Grizzle E, Charge point, and Wallbox. I have the 48 amp version of the Wallbox Pulsar Plus. Now that NACS will be the standard going forward and seeing as though J1772 cars will be around for awhile, you may want to look at the Tesla Universal Wall Connector. There have been some issues with it working with certain Rivians, but it has both a J1772 and NACS plugs.

I have no complaints about my hardwired Autel Maxicharger set at 48 amps. Their app displays everything you need to know.

ChargePoint Home Flex. ChargePoint has a station without a 240V cord which makes it cheaper. The Home Flex has variable current output. I set mine to 8A, which provides the 12V battery more charging time - if it needs it. Prices are lower than 4 years ago, too.

If you don't mind giving Elon some money, the Tesla universal wall connector should be pretty great. It has the J1772 adapter built-in, so if/when you get your next EV which will likely be NACS you won't have to worry about replacing the charger or using an extra adapter all the time. Price is pretty middle-of-the-road for a connected hard-wired charger, too.

I also use the charge point Schmedlack mentioned. It’s worked well for me. I like that I can vary it’s output on the chargepoint app if I want to slow things down to give the baby battery more charge. Mine is hardwired on a 60 amp circuit so I can go up to 48 amp setting. I chose it after combing through Tom’s state of charge videos. A selling point for me was ease of cable handling and not having to horse around a heavy, hard to handle cable. Since you’re in Montana, cold weather workability of the cable may be a consideration for you. Others on the forum have reported less than satisfactory results with the chargepoint. That’s not been my experience. I ordered mine through Home Depot which, like Lowes, has a pretty user friendly return policy. Not saying they’d take it back after it was mounted and used, but if you open the box and think it’s a POS, easy to return. I also went the Qmerit route for an electrician. My branch circuit run was short so cost wasn’t bad. Had an existing 60amp spot in the breaker box we repurposed for the EVSE. Good luck with your decision.
