Picked up my Mach E saturday and I am having trouble figuring out how to get my phone calls to come through on the car speakers. I tried wireless and wired android auto and both times my phone calls only go through on the phone. Maps & music work fine. When I connect directly to Sync 4 without andoid auto it works fine also aka I can hear my phone calls on the speaker.

P.S: I did not have this issue with my 2022 maverick which I traded in for the mach E.

If you've not setup PaaK yet, then I would remove the phone from the car's bluetooth profile (and do the same for your phone and the car.)

If PaaK is already activated, you'd need to go through that process. This still may not work.

Alternatively, if the car does not have some of the OTAs yet, I'd give it a few days as there was an issue resolved with Android phones and Bluetooth phone audio in May/June.

If the car is under warranty, have one of the people on the forum lookup your software versions and talk to the dealer about getting the updates as applicable.

I've had this issue occasionally and the only thing I can figure is that it's down to the whims of Android Auto on that day. Sometimes it's perfectly fine and works as expected. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes I can toggle the audio output from the phone and get it to work. And this isn't a Mach-E thing, in my experience. I've had this same problem with different cars and different Android phones.

I have PaaK setup. So I delete both car and phone profiles from each other and retry connecting ? Or should I delete PaaK and setup android auto first on car?

I've had the same issue, which I found out to be caused by my bluetooth-enabled hearing aids (see my Occupation). Look to see if you have another BT device on your phone that is not handing off to Sync.

I had this problem recently while I had a call in progress before entering the vehicle. I was only able to use the phone's built in speakerphone for the duration of the call even after connected to the vehicle with Android Auto.

I think this may be a bug with either AA or Ford's SYNC 4A. Does hanging up and redialing (after you're already in the car) fix it for you, out of curiosity? The only time I've experienced the issue was when I had a call in progress before entering the vehicle.

It does not. I hung up and called again no change. Had my wife call me back and same thing. She could hear me fine but I could only hear her via the phone itself. The music comes through fine via car speakers.

Ok I'm out of ideas other than the old fallback of restarting the phone and SYNC. :(

To restart SYNC, hold the steering wheel buttons for next track and volume down until you see the center display restart.

I believe that for phone calls, AA actually uses the bluetooth connection, so I would try deleting the car from AA and BT and re-set it all up again. Don't think that PAAK is related.

Turn your phone off, then back on. Usually solves the problem
