Pay attention when using non-Tesla membership at Superchargers

I paid $12.99 for the non-Tesla membership to get cheaper charging for a month during my roadtrip. I use the Tesla app to activate the charger and get the discounted rate. On multiple occasions I activated the charger using the Tesla app but the plug and charge protocol superceeded it, meaning that the FordPass app took over and it was charging me MORE per kWh. Precisely $0.53 versus $0.41. I finally realized this after it happened the second time. To solve it I just had to stop charging and try again to initiate using the Tesla app. After that, it correctly shows up in the Tesla app.

You can turn off Tesla P&C from your Ford app.

I have had that happen a few times using the Tesla app.

When the Tesla app fails to communicate, it automatically reverts to Ford BOCN P&C which means I am paying non Tesla driver rate.

I turned off P&C on my Ford BOCN and don't have an issue any more.

Love the 25% discount since I charge at Tesla so much.

64? No wonder they try to charge the higher rate wherever and whenever they can. Gotta pay for it somehow.
Look at all those solar panels. Must have a good sized ESS storage system there (probably underground).

I activated the blueoval charge network from my Ford account, when I plugged into a compatible tesla charger it was .41 .

I had the same issue. I called Tesla support and found out I needed to turn off Plug and Charge to be on the safe side.

Been waiting for them to activate that location. But then again, I probably won't use it that often...nice that's it's close though. Did you enjoy some ice cream while you were there?

Supercharger location is perfect - never a line - no waiting.

Great restaurants and the fresh Bruster's ice cream place is the bomb!
