2025 Mustang Mach-E Adds Sportier Looks, Auto Lane Changes, Heat Pump, Ventilated Seats & More

I'm well familiar with cold climate units. My question is also genuine. Is the Mach-E unit so designed? A question for some of our plugged-in members.

Yes, I'm interested in seeing the heat pump design and specs and tear down as well. The Tesla heat pump is apparently ingeniously and (at least according to some forum comments) heats much better than the previous resistive heat system they had.

Seat heat is a personal thing. Level 3 is great to get it warmed fast, then level 1 is perfect for my taste...to each his/her own.

It certainly could be personal preference, but I also wonder whether there might be a lack of consistency between Mach-E cars, i.e. different cars heating the seats to different levels due to trim/seat differences or quality escapes.

Do you find your Mach-E to heat the seats at a similar level to other cars? For me it's so much hotter than the cars I've owned or rented in recent years that it really feels like an outlier. Someone else in the thread referred to the seat heaters as "scorching" and that matches my experience.

if they "listend to the customers and froums", why would the useless [P] button still be on the console, instead of maybe a trunk or other hard button?

I find the hazard button beside the P button a nuisance. Nearly every time I put my dog in or out or leave him in the car for a couple of minutes he puts the hazard lights on. He reaches the button easily from his car seat.

I still want @Ford Motor Company to have a native NACS AND a CCS port, even if they have to move it to the rear of the car. In fact given Supercharger layouts having the fast charging ports at the rear makes sense.
Ford really needs to a physical frunk/trunk button and a key fob with a frunk button as they do in the EU.

Honestly, room in my frunk is a bigger daily concern for me than range. Winters are getting warmer anyways. It is 79°F in NH on October 21st. I mean WTF. Keep your heat pump and give me a frunk release on my FOB.

It's certainly possible. I agree the temperature on level 3 is uncomfortable to keep at that setting for very long and yes, it's warmer than my other vehicles but I've never compared to another Mach-E. Since the strategy/recommendation for our cars is supposed to be to use the seat heat rather than setting the cabin heat very high, might this be a "design feature"?

I don't think it would actually cause burns and my back loves the fast heat-up but I wonder if it will affect the longevity of the heaters (though in a forum with plenty of complaints, nobody has noted any failures, to the best of my knowledge).

My 2014 Ford Escape could actually burn you on heatseat level 5, they were great for keeping takeout hot, and for proving passengers wrong after they tell you "don't worry, I like mine on full".
30s later..... "oh, crap, oh, back to 3”

The seats in my MachE are not as hot, but still very nice. I think Ford is just in the habit of having GOOD heated seats.

As far as longevity is concerned, my 2014 Escape was still burning doubtful passengers up until it developed "3.5 cylinders disorder"...

Nothing here to make me want a Mach-e yet.
In my experience, Ventilated seats are useless.
I'm not an all black fan either.

BTW, you gain a heat pump but you lose ~ half the frunk space:

This is terrible for me and many other MachE owners in urban areas. Why?
Here is a secret: having the ability to store my suitcase after leaving an airport in my Frunk, or a week’s worth of groceries has led to my car windows staying intact when I am parked on the street here in the urban Bay Area (San Francisco, Oakland).

Taking away this luxury feature for a “charge cord and pizza box” frunk makes my stomach turn. This alone tells me I will have to switch to another EV with a better Frunk (no room to park a F-150 Lightning so don’t advise that) after my Options plan ends in two years.

Those seats look identical to the ones that were in my red first edition, stitching and all.

This makes me feel better about my plan to 'jump ship' in January, when I'll return my Mach-E (end of Ford Options) and switch to a tiny-frunked Ionic 5 with native NACS port & 800v architecture.

A great suggestion. If Ford is going to be a lemming and follow the other manufacturers lead with a mini-frunk, I am out when my plan to jump ship comes up in 2026. I love my MachE, but this will be my first and only Ford car purchase and I’ll go to an EV with great build quality and 800v architecture.

The seat pattern is different. Only the red stitching is the same.

I am curious if there are any women on this thread that have used the seat warmers and provided comments.
In my experience, women that drive my car or are passengers LOVE the level 3 setting during cold weather (typical Bay Area temperatures of 50-55F and below at night).
Maybe, just maybe Ford is trying to optimize the heated seat temperature for more than 50% of the potential users.
