That was a selling point that Ford advertised. It used to be in every update release notes, something along the lines of "power up updates like this help improve your vehicle over time." Ford is trying to get in on the ev market, the other, biggest, ev manufacturers issue ota updates all the time with better release notes, better features, and more bug fixes. I paid good money for my vehicle so I'm expecting Ford to do what they advertised, UPDATE MY CAR!You realize that it's only a small group of people who even care about getting updates. My daughter also has a Mach-E and periodically I'll ask her about updates and she says, "Dad, I don't know and I don't really care." To her updates are an inconvenience. I think she represents the vast majority.
When I originally did a test drive of my car in April 2021, the software on the car was so bad! The reverse camera froze and the screen started developing blue and green lines then it crashed. The center screen was sluggish and it just did not look polished at all. I thought to myself that if this car was not going to get OTAs I would not buy it. OTAs have always been the one thing to keep me going in Ford's experiment. I know I'm not alone in feeling that. That's why there's early access and there's a lot of people in there.
