This is a thread for the founding Mach E owners who took a chance and bought a 2021. I’m not including those who recently snagged a 21 on the used market.

I’m just curious… how many of us are left on this forum? Check in, please!

I have been an almost daily visitor to this board since shortly before I bought my First Edition. But in the last few months, my interest has waned. I just don’t get much useful information here anymore. Most of the posts seem to be noobs (no offense - I was once a noob, too) that I find repetitive and tedious.

I’ve lost interest in discussion about software updates which have been shelved indefinitely for my vehicle.

This is nothing against buyers of more recent models, btw. Hope you all enjoy your newer purchases. It’s just that for me, even though I plan to keep my car for several more years, my participation on this board is nearing the end of its useful life.
I just got rid of my 2021 for a 2024. Things started going bad and i was off of the warranty.
at the end the car was a brick for 6 weeks, i was negotiating a buy back when they got it running again. I took the deal anyways as they still offered it.
yea, I don't look on the site anymore but today my email showed your thread and i looked to see what was going on.

21 AWD premium, extended range battery, job 1 purchased 3/21.

Completely agree. Happy with what I have though. Only 21k miles as I don't use it much. I use our ICE much less.

Recently received the Tesla adapter and tried it locally once, $.55/kWh -- ouch. Now I no longer fear taking this car on road trips.

I've had all the warranty repairs done and never had the HVBJB failure, just lived with the anxiety that it could happen. Since the warranty service I no longer even have that. I've had about as good an experience with it as could be expected.

All in all I'm very happy with it.

Purchased my 2021 MachEx in late 2021 (Ordered it in March when I retired, got in November). 22K in miles - LOVE IT. I have Solar on my house so basically FREE to drive. Other than recalls & tire rotations, the only real costs. Oh yeah I did replace the 12v Battery at 3 years JUST TO BE SAFE! This will be a long-term car for me. I do miss my Lincoln Continental for a smoother ride AC Seats & messager. I use Blue Cruise a lot, as most millage is driving to my Kids house 2 hours away. I WISH I COULD GET 1.3, or better SOON. That is the only disappointment.

Wow. What a testimony to the original 2021 MMEs in all the posts. I have a job 1 2021 purchased in August 2021. Now with 38800 miles, original tires, original LVB, use PAAK all the time, BC 1.0 and no OTAs since June. I feel like most others have expressed on the post. Totally satisfied and enjoy driving the car. I have the Extended Service Warranty and plan to drive this car till the wheels fall off and can't be put back on. I also have an older Toyota ICE which I will be replacing with an EV. Just don't know which EV brand at this moment.

Got my 21 AWD Extended battery in November 21. It has done well for my wife and I. 16k miles on it and only thing upsetting was we drove into a wind storm across the desert. Wiped out all glass in front and most of the paint. Insurance and I replaced paint and glass and sensors. Looks good as new. Sometimes my wife even lets me drive it. LOL. No major issues with the car at all. I have found this blog helpful with some ideas with accessories. Dash cams and double charging mat in front.

Have been an owner since June 2021, 65000 miles and no issues other than OTA updates seem to have stopped since this past June. Mine is a Select Model.

I’ve been an owner Premium Extend Range AWD since June ’21 - Almost at 70k. I love the car, however, I am disappointed that the software updates seem to have stopped. It seems like we were the test dummies, and those who have waited to purchase/lease, are gaining the fruits. I know this true with all technology, but a note from Ford telling us “Thanks but your warranties are up and can no longer support your hardware configuration for software updates”, would have been nice.

Got my job 1 car in April of 2021. I was fortunate to get BC 1.4 last December and paid for 3 years for $600.

However, I'm extremely impressed with the current abilities of Tesla's FSD and i believe that will be my next purchase, whenever that may be.

We purchased our 2021 Mach-e Premium in August of 2021. We love the car and have not had any issues and we have completed all of the updates that Ford as suggested. I just wish we would get the latest Blue Cruise update as promised. We have 38,000 miles on our vehicle.

Thanks to OP @SonicBlue for starting this thread.

J1 '21 Mach-E 4x Premium IB (the best color as some other members have pointed out, and it only existed for that model year), picked up on the Fourth of July 2021.

Check the forum every once in a while to see what might be new, and to learn from the experts -- including over at the "Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others" thread. Edit: And just today found out about the A2Z V1 Exchange on the forum!

Similar grumbles as others, but minor compared to the fun of driving it new and still three years later. Access to superchargers has made long-distance trips easy. Got the ESP through Granger as insurance since I plan to keep it until 2027 and then see what the EV market looks like.
Awesome to hear! Thank you for your support!

I picked up the 21 job 1 MME (in my photo) in July 21.

  • ~36K miles

  • Zero hardware problems... software is updated DIY via FDRS about every 6 months.

  • I have learned soooo much here, I hope to return the favor when I can.

  • The MME is a long term keeper. My wife and I love it.
Blue Highway,
We are in the same boat, 2021 with 30K miles, and I love the car. Wife not so much as she is frustrated with EA charging taking too long due to their poor quality. Especially in the summer here in Arizona. This is really unacceptable to me that Ford stopped releasing upgrades for 2021. Least the ones still compatible with the EV. My son and his Tesla are still getting upgrades for their EV and its a year older than my MACH-E.

Curious has your manual upgrades captured the newer Blue Cruise improvements? Have you come across any issues with doing manually updates via FDRS and the hardware in the EV is no longer compatible?

How do you suggest I start updating manually via FDRS, any hints on how to get started? Like a paper showing the process and what I need to purchase. I am fairly good at technical challenges, an Electrical Engineer by trade. Any help would be appreciated. Joe

2021 job 2 Premium ER in the rarest color, Iconic Silver. Ordered in May '21, received in April '22! Ours was part of the very last batch of '21s, many of which got put on hold due to chip shortages. Ours got held up even more, due to a dead 12v battery (which were in scarce supply).

Unlike some (most?) folks here, we have a good dealership. Taking possession of the car was delayed a day while they were getting all the latest updates OTA. Weirdly, but luckily, we've had annual checkups align with vacation trips; we drop the car off and they get plenty of time to do the work.

Problems? Very few. I keep expecting something to go haywire, but so far nothing big.

I do like Blue Cruise, even the antique version we have now. And, our free subscription expires in April '24 -- an unexpected bonus for a late delivery.

I get the Trending New Discussions email daily, which is how I found this thread. Just under 30k miles, as it's mostly my wife's commuter car, but I get to drive it when we're going somewhere together.

Still lovin' it.

We bougly a used 2021 MME First Edition just over a month ago.

It had 193,000 km. Price was $23,600 Canadian.

Overall, it has been great except that a Check brake system light that Ford said could be caused by aftermarket brakes which I am getting replaced next week.

I had to get Ford to install the latest updates also...that cost 500 bucks,

The trim behind the right front wheel well wasn't reinstalled correctly after the High voltage recall...getting that fixed next week with the brakes.

Considering what I am paid for it used...I am pretty satisfied.
