This is a thread for the founding Mach E owners who took a chance and bought a 2021. I’m not including those who recently snagged a 21 on the used market.

I’m just curious… how many of us are left on this forum? Check in, please!

I have been an almost daily visitor to this board since shortly before I bought my First Edition. But in the last few months, my interest has waned. I just don’t get much useful information here anymore. Most of the posts seem to be noobs (no offense - I was once a noob, too) that I find repetitive and tedious.

I’ve lost interest in discussion about software updates which have been shelved indefinitely for my vehicle.

This is nothing against buyers of more recent models, btw. Hope you all enjoy your newer purchases. It’s just that for me, even though I plan to keep my car for several more years, my participation on this board is nearing the end of its useful life.

I bought my 2021 in March of 22, its been flawless, has 40k miles and I still love it. I was always EAP so used to getting software updates (maybe 50 so far?) but yeah that has dried up since April. The car still runs great and now that subscriptions are ending I am looking forward to trying Android Auto with EV options instead of native nav, and I might even try comma.ai instead of bluecruise. I have an extended warranty so want to keep the car for years, we might out grow the space, but I would probably keep this as car 2 in that case.

And yes the forum is less interesting now, I also have a Bolt which has even less news/action, but that forum is all longtime owners solving the worlds problems, so its kinda fun.

3 years exactly today (2021 Job 2)! Will have a write-up/review of the car soon, when time permits.
As far as the forum, I've been lurking more the past year or two vs being more active in the early days, just personal life has been more busy.

I preordered my wife a 21 GT (not PE) and received in October 2021. Have 38,500 miles on it as of today. Issues have been the modem went kaput within the first month, last year the HVBJB failed, and today I am waiting for a front electric motor. Oh and two windshields. I was a mustang club member so I got about $1K off sticker. The Ford dealers have all been fantastic to deal with. The one I currently use is Vancouver Ford and has just been stellar. My wife loves the car and aside from these few things we are satisfied.

I picked up the 21 job 1 MME (in my photo) in July 21.

  • ~36K miles

  • Zero hardware problems... software is updated DIY via FDRS about every 6 months.

  • I have learned soooo much here, I hope to return the favor when I can.

  • The MME is a long term keeper. My wife and I love it.

2021 Premium. Leased it in January 2022. Currently has about 11,800 miles. Have never had a problem. Picked up the car with ever test driving an MME. Dealer rep didn't really know that much about it. I had never driven an EV, so there was a learning curve. Will be turning this car in at the lease end. I'm trying to decide whether I want to lease another MME or go with a plug in hybrid. In the beginning this forum was extremely helpful,

Got my Premium 4x in August of '21. No major issues, only about 30k miles on it. Now that the supercharger network is opened up and I have an adapter I expect to use is more for road trips. At this time when my Options is up next August, I think I will be keeping it.

Ordered my '21 Premium 4x in April of 2021, took over an order from someone else at the dealership that had cancelled and received my Job 2 '21 on November 29, 2021. 54K miles in. Cost is now below $1/mile including charging (85% at home). Will continue to drop as I don't plan on selling for at least 3-4 more years. Just got offered another year of BlueCruise for $0 (which I took) - maybe I'll actually see 1.3 before it expires. Hopefully I'll be able to get a 350+ mile range with my next vehicle - whether that's a solid state battery, better efficiency, better motors, whatever - that can charge on the road in 20 minutes. Only hardware issue was the HVJB, replaced before it failed.

21 Premium AWD. I think build date of Dec. It was a demo vehicle with 2000 miles on it when I bought it. Several issues that have been resolved over the years. 96xxx miles. Just put on another set of tires and plan to drive to about 150k miles then off to another brand.

Love the car and will replace it with another EV of some sort. I do think Ford has lost me as a repeat EV customer due to software issues. I really feel like they dropped the ball in that area big time.

I'm still here, but not as much as I used to be! Currently at 35,807 miles on the odometer and 3 years and 8 months of ownership. I echo the sentiment that you shared @SonicBlue . I also don't end up really finding much value here anymore, but I sure did get help through the Bouncy Ride thread that I created and seemingly went on forever, as it led to me eventually swapping out my rear shocks for the Koni shocks, which greatly improved the ride and my overall satisfaction with my Mach-E First Edition. I did put in a reservation for the Scout Traveler when it was announced and will probably end up trading my Mach-E for the Traveler when it comes along (though my wife would be happy to just keep the Mach-E to avoid re-introducing another car payment when the Scout comes out), but I plan to keep my 2023 Lightning until it dies, as I love that truck so much. I am overall quite happy with my Mach-E still and it has held up quite well, aside from part of the Mach-E badging breaking off, and something cracking my panoramic roof glass and needing to replace that, and aside from needing to get my driver's seat cover replaced because the Active-X material was cracking.

CART 1 build September 2021 . 39,000 miles with no issues. Last December I purchased a second Mach-e for my wife. I no longer have any ICE vehicles in my home since December last year. I dont miss going to the gas station.
