See. That’s the problem with saying anything. Don’t parse @hybrid2bev’s exact phrasing and get yourself all worried. Please try to be patient while Ford figures out whatever they’re dealing with.
I was thinking the same thing. It would probably have been better to say nothing at all. Nonetheless not really worried. I really do trust the good people at Ford.

My "produced" drop delivery ETA now says 2/15 today from the dealer. Not sure if that will now swing weeks further out or not. I wish we knew more on what the fix is, was, or needs to be.

Sorry guys here in Quebec we have our own issues to solve with the government cutting the $8K incentives on some Premium trims, basically any trim that have AWD, so I've not read much lately then the Canadian thread about this. Is the delay a simple shipping issues or is there something else that they need to correct before mass deliveries?
Maybe a Quality control issue from what I’ve read here. Not shipping.

I don't think so. I saw a german review. They fastcharged the MME with up to 160kW.

So, no problem right?

Not necessarily. Were they the same configuration cars? Same battery sizes? Same battery providers?

We need to wait to see what Ford is actually concerned about.

Hoping the estimated part of the email was conservative and the fix will not take 2 additional months. Not the end of the world, but maybe we will get an idea as to the issue since they did make 3 deliveries or so, not that the knowledge will change anything.

Has anyone reached out to one of the execs on social media about it?

Sorry, I don't have details. I know at a high level what the issue is around and that's all I can say.
Ha! Yeah, I found out about this 4 days ago (on Monday the 11th) so I've done a good job at keeping quiet.

With updated info, the potential issue does not sound as bad as I initially thought, we'll see what happens.
I'm available to go help get things all fixed up.
I can be in KC in two days of driving.
I have lots of software and vehicle experience.
I am Covid-Free.
I can supply my own (covid-safe) lodging.
Just ask.

:)

Given that this is a STOP SHIP, and it impacts units that have left the plant, I’m pretty sure the global chip shortage has nothing to do with it. I doubt Ford will ever officially say “we put in a month-long STOP SHIP because of X”.

Another data point - a dealer stock I have been tracking to Easton, MD (about 75 miles from Baltimore) had been showing ETA of 2/1. Checked it this morning when I saw this thread and indeed the ETA was pushed to 3/30. Was checking on mine just now (built 1/8, no ETA) and (compulsively) checked that FCTP again, and it now is back to a 2/1 ETA.

Exactly. While disappointing to everyone with a car on the way, we should be pleased about stopping shipment to resolve an issue which in all likelihood only manifested itself on a small number of cars, and this is literally just a QC for most. I'm hopeful that the delays people are seeing are worst-case scenarios. Ford team runs a test or two on the car, it passes or fails. If it passes, off it goes. If it fails a part is replaced, retested, and off it goes. That is all speculation, of course, but I don't think that's too far off the mark.

That's quite understandable. If your car is among those in a holding pattern, I'd wait just a while yet, if you can, before bailing on what might be a shorter hold than expected. You'd hate to bail for a GT500 and then see your trim and color Mach-e driving down the street a week later. Ok, maybe that wasn't the best analogy... ;)
My Tracker Info (from this site) just updated today with 30 Mar as the ETA date. Makes me sick to my stomach! Completely unsat!

Mine's 2/14 but Vehicle Visibility shows it arrived in Delaware this morning.

I would have thought that the vehicles would have been kept on the train cars and just changed tracks/engines in KC to head west, imagining all the ones headed to California would be on cars together? Apparently that wasn't the case since they were unloaded onto trucks then moved to lots by the KC factory or elsewhere? This happened with mine on the 9th, just curious about the logistics and if this delay was already a potential after the holiday.

What's the value of a PR department if the say nothing?
Well I agree with you that it would be appropriate and even considerate for Ford’s PR department to let customers know something about why their vehicles are being delayed; If only to reassure us that they understand the issue and are capable of fixing it so it doesn’t plaque us in the future. This was in reference to a quote by hybrid2bev specifically. People from Ford are on our forum, but I don’t feel they are the ones that owe us an explanation. So best not to comment and open that can of worms — because then a further explanation may be expected. ?
