John - That looks very nice!! What kind of printer do you have, if you don't mind me asking. Looks like you get good use out of it. I'm looking at getting one for the teenagers to play around with for christmas.
This will be one of my first prints. :) Of course assuming Ford ever gets to order 130,000.
Well, maybe I'll wait to print that out until I have it in my hand. LOL.
Thanks. I have a Bambu Labs Carbon X1. It is very capable.

Regarding making a box, I’d definitely wait until you get your adapter since there’s no guarantee you’ll get the OG Tesla-supplied one.

I'm looking at Bambu printers. I'm leaning towards the A1 over the P1S since the kids will just be using PLA. Hoping it's a good beginner machine.

Maybe I'll figure out some other MME gadgets that I can't live without. ?

Thanks.

You live in Utah so (I presume) it's dry. That should make an open frame printer work well. (In humid places like San Francisco we really need to keep out filament dry - something that's difficult with an open frame printer.) You may not get as dimensionally stable results as with a closed frame one, but it will likely be good enough.

Humidity here rarely makes it past 50% outside, and often less. My house stays around 25-35% humidity. It's 26% today, being cold outside.

Good to hear and thanks for the info!!!

EDIT: I attached a STEP file with the 3D model. A word of caution however: I've not printed this version. I wasn't 100% happy with the version in the photo below and to fix the issues I need to make substantial rebuilds of the model. So I recommend if you do want to use the model, verify its suitability before printing! I can export the model in other formats as well. If there's a preferred format, let me know and I'll do it if I can.

I created a case for my two Tesla charging adapters - the Ford (Tesla-made) NACS to CCS Adapter and the TeslaTap Mini. (You can see the models I used to make the cavities here.) There's also space for two Master padlocks to secure the TeslaTap adapter when it use. (Hey Tesla, why didn't you think of this for the CCS adapter????) If anyone is interested, I can put up the 3D CAD model for this. (In case you're wondering, there are bosses on the underside of the cover to hold the adapters and locks in place.) While I'm pleased with the results overall, there are a couple tweaks I need to make before I post the model.

I just ordered this case from Amazon—only $11 and arrived overnight. Fits great. I attached the original part label to the bottom, and the manual fits perfectly in the pocket.

There’sa guy on YouTube who goes by MeadMade and he has a series of videos about the X1 Carbon as well as there Bambu Studio software. I found his videos to be excellent and they gave me a great foundation for using my printer. Best of luck!
