Jim, not sure you are talking about the same thing. The cargo cover is the item that attaches to the liftgate. When the liftgate is up, the cover goes up with it. There are two hooks on either side of the liftgate that the posts of the cover snap into. The new hooks have a ridge in them that make it very difficult to snap the cover post into them and really hard to pull them out. I almost broke one of the posts trying to remove it from the hook. I filed down the ridges inside the hooks so the cover would snap in and out easier. Whoever changed this design, certainly did not test it out afterwards.Congrats Mark .
Is this still the cardboard abortion as in the earlier versions of the Machs ?
Until my 21 Mach all my Mustangs had the pull and retract style.

This is a crappy photo but the arrow points to the ridge they added to make the cover post tight when snapped in. I filed it down almost flat and it is still tight but it won't come out on its own anymore.
