Congrats Mark .
Is this still the cardboard abortion as in the earlier versions of the Machs ?
Until my 21 Mach all my Mustangs had the pull and retract style.
Jim, not sure you are talking about the same thing. The cargo cover is the item that attaches to the liftgate. When the liftgate is up, the cover goes up with it. There are two hooks on either side of the liftgate that the posts of the cover snap into. The new hooks have a ridge in them that make it very difficult to snap the cover post into them and really hard to pull them out. I almost broke one of the posts trying to remove it from the hook. I filed down the ridges inside the hooks so the cover would snap in and out easier. Whoever changed this design, certainly did not test it out afterwards.

This is the cover and the support hooks I am talking about:

This is a crappy photo but the arrow points to the ridge they added to make the cover post tight when snapped in. I filed it down almost flat and it is still tight but it won't come out on its own anymore.

Yeah I was wondering about the cover itself. My bad for not being clear .
I picked up some clips that work great off of Amazon . The cover on my 21 was a nightmare. Always coming off or falling down .
I prefer the old window shade versions that retract when pulled and released . They fixed the port door issue with the "dimple"
I'd like to see them address this also.

Heh, I forgot about the dimple. If I get a 2024 I might have to get a 2021 charge port door skin since I don’t like the dimple and don’t have a lot of trouble operating the catch. ?‍♂?

Ok, I have an update.... I am going to start calling my '24 a Job 2 because I keep finding out that some of those changes I noticed that are in my first post here, are different from the pre July '24 builds.

About this cargo cover, I had thought that the little bump in the support hook on the liftgate was larger thereby making it more difficult to snap the cover into it. I found out just now, that my friends early July '24 build has the same size little bump. We both measured the posts on the cover that snap into the bump and mine is slightly larger. So Ford changed that post and made it a big larger for a tighter fit. I am going to change #14 in my list to state this.

You can buy and aftermarket "window shade" version of this cargo cover from 3rd parties. They are available on Amazon but I have heard they doin't mount too well and some have had issues with them.

I think the dimple is barely noticeable and actually does not bother me. I never did have an issue opening and closing the charge port door without the dimple since I knew where to push.

Mark,
Just curious if you were able to get anything out of that "Ford Power Promise" where they offer a free Home Charger and installation on 24's. If a buyer already has a charging setup, do they exchange that offer with something different like a price discount?

Ford offers a $1,000.00 credit if you do not want the Ford EVSE and installation. ??

Hey not to be "that" guy but Im seeing $2000 credit and we should probably point out that its cash money and not a charging credit . Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong .
For those with a charger already ...if you also own a Lightning the Ford charger is bidirectional and you might just want to consider the step up in charger/charging equipment if your house can handle the technology .

Hey Brian, as Steve said, they gave me $1K for not accepting the home charger. I rolled it in to the rebates I was getting for the downpayment.

There are so many different rebates right now I cannot keep them straight. Some dealers are offering different ones from others. I was told by the three dealers I talked to that if you do not accept the charger you will get $1K back. I chose to take that $1K and roll it into the rebates for the downpayment. $10K was for going through Ford leasing, $2K dealer rebate (buying from stock) and a $2K holiday rebate.

Another great write up Mark! I really like to hear that power does not drop off at 75 MPH.

Does the heat pump heater not have any resistance heater supplement? I am curious on the heat because I also like having instant heat available. How long does it take to warm up now?

2. Driver and passenger kick plates no longer have an aluminum "Mustang/GT" plaque
Two less mods you have to make now to scrub the "GT"s? Is the plaque completely gone or just no longer aluminum?

Hey Erich, the heat pump is in the '25's that are coming out next year. We still have the resistive heater in the '24's and no there is no resistive heater to supplement the heat pump in the '25's.

No plaque, it is embossed in the plastic and looks cheap compared to the aluminum plaque which I have on order.

I have one GT left to remove, the emblem on the hatch. I am having a custom painted Ford oval emblem made like I did my last Mach-E but this one will be Glacier Gray and gloss black.

The plastic does look cheap but now that I've seen it I do sort of like the subdued black color. It would be nice if they offered an inverted pattern sill plate, something like black steel with etched or light text.
