Wife took the California Route 1 Mach E in to the tire place this morning for winter tires and they told us that the tire shoulder is so worn as to be legally "bare". We bought our Mach E in December 2022, so this is less than 2 years. We've rotated once every 10k miles (so twice since purchasing).

Anyone else experiencing quick tire wear on the run flats that come standard when you purchase a Mach E?
My 2021 Job 1 car has 30k miles and the tires are about 40% left. I rotate them every 4k miles and drive conservatively.

You can look at my other posts. My OEM Michelins wore out at 25K. I contacted them and they gave me a 50% discount to use on a new set. I thought that was fair. I am up to 25K on my latest set and they look good.
My tires last 25K. I am on the third set of tires (@52K).
I don't drive like crazy. Now I got the 225/55R19 DEFENDER 2 from Michelin at 50K. They are supposed top last longer.

My '21 OEM's lasted about 42k and replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S; but there are threads and threads on this and it seems that it varies a bit, but really seems to depend on how much you like to floor it. If you're enjoying that instantaneous electric torque, it'll eat through those OEMs for breakfast.

I have had my 2022 GT for a little over 2 years now. Under 18K miles but living in Colorado I probably will replace them soon for the winter traction or I will just buy snow tires. I had a lot of fun so I know my tire wear isn't "normal". My second set will last a lot longer...maybe. :fingerscrossed:

I have a 23 CR1 and made it 41K miles on the original Michelins. They could have gone a little further but the edges both inside and outside were more worn than the center tread, like I was running them underinflated. I always kept them at 40-41 psi and the bulk of the driving was freeway. My next set I'll run at 43 psi and cross my fingers I do better this time.

I changed my GT performance edition summer tires at around 12k miles a little after the one year mark.

Is there a difference in the PSI recommendation by Ford in the USA vs the U.K? For normal load my manual (and sticker on the door jamb) says I should be running fronts at 35 PSI and rears at 41 PSI. My 21 Premium AWD Extended Range runs on stock Bridgedale Turanza T005 225/55 R19 summer tyres and I reckon I’ll get nearly 50K miles out of them (37K miles of summer driving so far). These are the tyres the car came with. In winter I now swap to Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2 tyres. I’m 6K miles in on them so too early to tell how long they’ll last.

Was in the shop for a door latch issue, dealer filled to 42 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They heat up to 40 to 45 when driving but should start at 39 psi if you go as per manual. Just got cold and still need to winter fill them. The weight is no more than a pick up truck but these tires are skinny. I will opt for a wider set next time.

Just piping in to say I love the avatar

39 all 4 here. I have never heard of different back and front on a highway vehicle. Is that common for cars over there? 30 20psi for the tractor but it has way different tires for each. Normally the tire also tells you and they are all the same. The weight is pretty distributed on the MME wonder why they would be noting varying them? Safer steering at lower psi? Tell us if they last forever running like that ;) and you should be OK with 39 all around also. Run them all at 35 is fine. The harder they are the more range it should get. 42 psi would also work.

I've seen something like this where if you had AWD or not they would change how they fill the tires and have a split ratio. I do notice now with 42 that they are more stiff and am thinking of bringing them down to 37 for a softer ride but since its about to be cold and wet that may not be a good idea. (Underfilled = longer breaking time)

Your tire sizes are 225 and 235, not 125 and 135, just so people aren't confused.
Thanks for catching the error. Not the first time my fingers type faster than my brain proofreads! Those would’ve been fat bike tires…

I'm thinking about the Defender as well. It looks like the Defender 2 is better as far as rolling resistance than the original Defender, but it's hard to find any solid data.

I'm curious...how does it drive compared to the OE tire? (noise/crispness of steering/ride/etc)

Thanks!

Can someone post pic of what worn tires look like, please. Mine are here…have about 20k miles on them. Driving normal. Q: Are these worn?

That must be my problem. I left the rears in the original position for 10,000 miles before moving them to the front. They are down to 4/32 'while the front tires were at 6/32" at 18,000 miles. I love the instant torque, but my wife accelerates harder than me, and she's 77 years old!
