Looking forward to seeing Erik-with-his-new-GPTE photos!
I passed. They only had a star white today. Not sold on the color and can’t really justify the $30k for a slightly better ride than mine. We’ll see what Dec 25 brings. I went back to the same dealer I go to every December. On the way out the door I told him I’d see him again next year.

Yeah, star white would definitely not be my choice either. And $30K to improve the ride is something I totally understand. Awhile back I had a chance to get a ‘22 IBSM GTPE with only 2K miles on it for $17K over the trade-in on my ‘22 IBSM GT. I just couldn’t go there. Too much for a modest ride improvement.

What I’d really like is to put the Rally suspension on my GT. I doubt that’s practical, but I think it would make the car oh so much better (though of course I’ve not actually driven a Rally do I don’t actually know how much of a difference it would (dare I say actually) make………??)

I have to stop reading this damn forum! I was perfectly happy with my 22 when you all started talking about deals on 24s. Now I’m driving 3 hours each way tomorrow to pick up this! Unlike Mark's case, Rapid Red is THE color I always wanted to have. I’ll miss hands free deck opening, but that’s all.

I have aftermarket tires and wheels and they will swap them for me. I was going to swap out the wheels/tires together, but those wheels look nice. It comes with summer tires, so tires are being changed no matter what.

PS. Took rebates/incentives and trade in as down payment, then used 72 month/0% interest for the balance. I could pay cash for it, but why pass up 0% interest?! I can spend that money on more unnecessary modifications on the new Mach e.

Nice.
Personally I’m going to keep my 21 with the decontented park assist and kick to open liftgate that I never use because I have more! :p

I’ve been driving the dealer’s FCTP mach-e for a month or so. It’s star white. The color doesn’t grow on you. It also collects dirt.

Totally agree. They're looking around for a greybut I know they won't find it. They
re also closed for like 4 days next week so they have 3 days or so to close deals. I was the only person in there yesterday that wasn't a sales person)

I can say this. With all the stuff I've done suspension wise to my car once I matched tire pressure on the 24 to mine the grand majority of my annoyances were noticeable in the 24. When I left the dealer I was blown away by the ride. Then i opened the tire pressure and saw they were all about 33 psi. Ran home, put them up to 38 and took the ride. It was very minimal of a difference. I did try all 3 drive modes as well and whisper is still quite loose in the rear, engage was probably the best for how/where I was driving. But the seats, didn't help. As a big guy (~250lbs) my back was warm with no climate on, and even when it was on my back was still quite a bit warmer than the ActiveX in my car. If I could have gotten to around the low $20k range in upgrade tax I probably would have pulled the trigger.

Hey Erik, Can you clarify. When you left the dealer you were blown away with the ride. You were back in your car leaving the dealer right? or talking about the test drive in the 24?

It sounds like your saying the magna ride didn't make as a big impression as the hype would lead us to believe?

When I left the dealer for a test drive in the 24 I was blown away. BUT the tires were at 33psi. What the magna ride DID do though was removed the double bounce from the tires being too low of a pressure. So as long as you can get proper wear out of the under inflated tires the 24 can smooth out a huge amount of road annoyance. But if at 38 or above you are still going to feel those cracks and imperfections that you and I feel now.

I'd say the magaride feels a little bit better than a MME with Eibach GT springs and Koni's. But for someone coming from a bone stock car to a Magna car it's a significant step up. Plus they don't have to mess around with ~$2k in mods and time.

It's really a shame the Magna ride components, height sensors & harness can't easily be retrofitted on non factory magna-ride equipped MME's. I assume Ford left out a substantial amount of the needed hardware / modules, etc to make it plug and play.

Heh, I forgot about the dimple. If I get a 2024 I might have to get a 2021 charge port door skin since I don’t like the dimple and don’t have a lot of trouble operating the catch. ?‍♂?
I assume Eruption Green charge door will always have a dimple since it’s a new color for 2024?

Aye, unless you buy a used one and have it painted… It’s not enough of a worry for me to replace the door. If it was, I would have done that when I was trading my old one in. ??

Unless Ford changed their parts on that charge door, they do not come painted. The one I purchased back in ‘21 came primer gray ready to paint.

I got my metal rear cargo rings in. I can now safely place a crate in the back and lash it to 4 metal rings. ??

Plastic ring next to the installed metal rings: ??

The other ring still in its bag next to the one I installed. ??

Anyone want a pair of the plastic rings? ??

Yeah. 6 clears through FDRS, plus a couple from my OBD-2 unit and CarScanner. I am guessing it’s the liquid electrical tape I used. First time I have ever used that stuff. Gonna unwrap the harness today and tape up the splices instead. ??

If I still had my '21, I would change out the chrome rings for the silver ones. I hate the look of chrome. ?
