You could do the “pillar-to-pillars” bottom display as a separate element from the actual windshield, and just project the typical AR HUD stuff up on the windshield using existing HUD projection technologies and windshields (For some reason, Ford uses a separate pop-up screen to project their HUD on ?‍)

Total cost is still around 40k more. You can shift money around and continually rent vehicles sure….

But a vehicle that cost 40k more should have better features….I am shocked.

In the current market, it doesn't make much sense to buy an EV. The values just tank, rebates are WAY better on leasing, etc. if you compare apples to apples on a lease, the iX is insane.

Would love some kind of HUD in the Mache. I had a BMW with a much simpler HUD and I loved it. Had no problems seeing it in any kind of lighting. It projected all kinds of stuff right on the windshield. Directions were great, right there in your field of view. The lack of a HUD was the very first feedback I gave to Ford 4 years ago.

Might be because OP decided to list 7 things “cut” from a cheaper vehicle instead of just talking about the new HUD.

You can have nicer things! Buy 100k vehicles! Problem solved.

People want EV’s to be more affordable? Things get cut.

At least the prices have went down…could be Ford cutting things AND raising prices.

Have a HUD in our Lexus and love it. My first HUD was in my 98 Pontiac Grand Prix and it was also awesome. Sure wish the Mach E had it.

It’s natural that advanced features get rolled out to more expensive vehicles first, then to us Ford-driving peasants ??.

So we drive back from the dealer with our new 24 GT. We pull into our garage, and my wife comments that she’s thrilled that we can drive an America car that can smoke every BMW and Porsche that our neighbors have.
