Jerry, I’m reading your post to say you sold off your Mach E. Am I reading your post correctly? If I am wrong, that’s good! If I am correct, I’m sorry to see you go. Either way, best wishes to you and your family.

Yeah, I put that out there couple of months ago. I wanted to go to a plug-in hybrid through Ford but the best they could do was $28,000 and so Carvana gave me like 39 almost. And since I’ve got the 12 convertible Mustang, the wife wanted it a different color car all along, and I just felt more comfortable. Going back to a gas powered vehicle. Although mine was running great, and I loved it I’ve just been helping out a whole lot of people in the family spending lots of money and it was costing me a little bit more than I wanted to as far as insurance and tags plus I still was paying on it so the vehicle I moved into was a lease for about half what I was paying for that. I’m still sticking around the form reading stuff. Gave away some of my stuff to the local target manager, who drove a GT, Plus, he gave me $100 for my adapter that Ford sent me.

On December 23rd, I got the dread Stop Safely Now warning on my 2022 AWD/Premium/Extended 10/22 date of manufacture Mach e. Car bricked in middle of busy street (windows and other accessories continued to work) and I had to be towed to local dealer. VERY DANGEROUS. as I was stuck in middle of busy road and car car was stuck in Park. After waiting over two weeks for the only available EV Tech and EV Bay, the dealer informed me yesterday that two of the high voltage battery "cells" (I assume they mean modules) have failed and need to be replaced which will require the entire high voltage battery to be dropped down from the bottom of the car to get access to the top "cells" for replacement. Replacement parts are available but need to be delivered by a "special courier" which will take 5-10 days. Install will take 2-3 weeks. I have had no other issues with the car and have never charged it at a high voltage charging station. Car has about 9,000 miles on it. Not only is this extremely frustrating to have to wait weeks for a simple diagnosis but an additional 3 weeks to be fixed, assuming all goes well. Most importantly, it bricked on a busy road __EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
how many threads are you going to start on this?

If you strip away the natural frustration, there are some noteworthy points. Parts availability and dealer technician availability are more scarce for EVs, leading to prolonged downtime. Premium brands frequently provide EV loaner vehicles, and ford does not (though I acknowledge in Feb of 2021 I did receive another Mach-e while they experimented with mine).

THIS IS CLEARLY UNIQUE TO BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLES. THEY SHOULD BE BANNED.

No ICE vehicle ever stalled in the middle of a busy road. ;)
Guess you never had a timing chain break on an ICE vfhicle. I have experiened that which pretty much made it equal to a bricked EV.

I had a fuel pump die on me while on the highway. That was fun...

Yes, the timing chain broke on my wife’s Pinto in the middle of the interstate. That was the end of it — died not with a bang but with a whimper.

I hate to make light of the disaster in California, but I can’t get the quote out of my mind of the lady that could not get out of the house and they helped her. She said it’s a hybrid. I couldn’t get out of the garage WTF.

I absolutely hate it when people try to play up the danger to make their point seem more valid. It happens all the time in lots of random areas of life and it just pisses me off. There are valid points that need to be addressed with the issue OP had and ideally car companies can work on solutions to make it less of a problem. However, as it has been pointed out this isn't a Mach-E problem or a BEV problem that the car stopped in the middle of a road.

Being that you mentioned nothing about having to come to a stop when everything suddenly died, it sounds like you were not moving or moving slowly. So you were on a busy road in stop and go traffic and the car stalled. While frustrating for sure and does have some safety implications, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS is not what you experienced. Without that extra bit of bullshit most of the responses on here would have been helpful responses on how long the repair should take, local dealers who may be better than the one you have, and other helpful comments.

With all that being said, I do hope everything gets fixed quickly and I completely understand your frustration with the car. There are definitely some serious design issues with this car that Ford should be ashamed of.
