An update after a test drive today.
GOOD NEWS! Lane Departure still works!

What gets disabled is the display of it. I tested this by turning it on with the button on the wheel (you see no indication on the display that it’s on) then I tried to drift out of my lane (when no one was in the next lane). The wheel pulled me back and vibrated if I kept trying to leave the lane.

This is the perfect situation for me because the main reason I disabled the lane departure is to get the standard display back. Now I can have both. Also when turning cruise control/BlueCruise on I only have to hit the cruise button!

I can confirm that this is what I experienced also... I still get the steering wheel vibration / rumble if I press the lane keep button before turning on cruise control.

I was able to toggle it on and off on a side road and it seemed to work thankfully!

Thanks everyone for figuring this out! It’s silly, but it’s nice to have the centered speedo and animations back.

Everything is working on my 21 Job 1 the same as @Gullwingdmc ’s video shows. Lane keeping and BlueCruise work the same as before, only the car/bubble/lane display is disabled when BlueCruise/cruise control is off.

I have been reading this post for the past 48-72 hours and you guys have inspired me! Ordered the OBD Scan last night and should be getting it soon. Can't wait to have the speedometer back to the center and see the cool animation like before
@Gullwingdmc @Electric Goat and @Reicher89 for the post and questions. You guys rock! Thank you

I read in another thread that an IPC update is expected soon. If Ford doesn't fix the Speedo in this new update, I'm 100% going to FORScan it.

Which thread was that? I’d be curious to see the source.

Just completed the FORScan and I confirm that it works as expected :) Very happy to see the speedometer back in the center.
Removed the double honk of the horn too when we leave the car with the FOB or PaaK.

IPC update is to fix the 1 mph at stop but hopefully this and fixing power meter jail bars too.

SSM 53115 2022-2023 Mustang Mach-E - Speedometer Stays At 1 MPH (1 Km/h) When The Vehicle Is Stopped
Some 2022-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit the condition where the speedometer stays at 1 mph (1 km/h) when the vehicle is stopped. This may be due to the software in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in Q1 of 2025. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle’s settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in Q1 of 2025. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

Hopefully this is the same software the 2024s got, and that 2021s will be included in that as well.

And of course Ford's documentation doesn't reflect the reality that this ALSO impacts the 2021 Model Year cars. Hopefully they do push this to everyone. Time will tell!

요약:

https://forscan.org/download.html

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/forscan-mme-spreadsheet.24701/

절차:

A = KIIWC 활성화 • DRLCF 비활성화 • LA Full_LDW_LKA

TLDR:
1. Change IPC value 720-02-01 xx*x xxxx xxxx to one of 0/4/8/C (Lane Assist Disabled)
2. Change Settings > Driver Assistance > Pre-Collision Assist > Distance Indication to OFF

DISCLAIMER: This turns off safety features, use at your own discretion. The effect on BlueCruise after this change is unknown as I don't use that feature. After this change, the lane assist button on the steering wheel does nothing. Adaptive cruise control appears to still work as expected.

---

Hey folks! After having my brand new 2023 California Route 1 in for a service, they upgraded a bunch of modules, I guess that included PowerUp 6.8.0 because my instrument cluster started showing the ugly car-in-the-middle as everyone's been bashing here. I also hate it. Love the speedometer in the middle with the beautiful graphics, and that should always be an option for us to choose. @Ford Motor Company PLEASE make this an option so we don't have to hack around this.

Anyways, I've found a fix/workaround to get the speedometer back in the middle. It requires turning off Lane Assist via FORScan and then turning off Distance Indication. I personally dislike Lane Assist anyways (or at least the assist portion, I don't mind if it vibrates to alert me and then I can manually correct).

Adapter required:
https://a.co/d/cSsgylc or https://a.co/d/jeh2tPd

Software required:
https://forscan.org/download.html

Mach-E FORScan codes spreadsheet:
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/forscan-mme-spreadsheet.24701/

Procedure:

1. Change IPC value 720-02-01 xx*x xxxx xxxx to one of 0/4/8/C (Lane Assist Disabled)
2. Change Settings > Driver Assistance > Pre-Collision Assist > Distance Indication to OFF

To determine what value you want 0/4/8/C, check what values you have already have for KIIWC and DRLCF...
e.g. if you're staring with:
A = KIIWC enabled • DRLCF disabled • LA Full_LDW_LKA
change to
8 = KIIWC enabled • DRLCF disabled • LA Disabled

I would like to try it as well. However, I have never used Forscan before, and I’m a bit afraid. Are there any videos that kindly explain how to use it or how to fix this issue?

Throwing a note into this thread to suggest to those who find this thread (or did so recently):

You might want to hold off on implementing the changes in this thread (with ALL THANKS to @Reicher89 for doing a truly outstanding job of sharing/documenting the needed alterations and the ramifications for doing so!).

It looks like Ford has the fix for this behavior "Coming Soon(tm)" to our cars, as seen here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/ipc-25-7-46-update-on-2023-job-1-mach-e.46497/

My only question that I am thinking about: Should I roll the change to the IPC back to the "broken" state prior to my car getting this IPC update? It's definitely something to consider since not every update fully resets the database of settings, I have been told.
