I had to buy a new car becuase this has taken so long. I bought a RIVIAN R1S. Which unfortunately keeping with my unlucky streak here.........promptly broke on the way home from delivery. *sigh..... I emailed RJ (CEO) and he called me personally the next day and made things right. So I unfortunately cannot communicate with Ford any longer for reasons we can all guess. I will update everyone in a few months. .....its already been 5 whats another 3 or 4?
Since you already bought a new car. Have you asked dealer what the trade in price they could offer for that car as is? If it is a few thousands lower than the market price, maybe it is time to cut loss and just trade it in as is. Of course, the dealer may not want to touch that car at all considering how Ford is responding. Or take it back and trade in some where else. Let the big dogs duke out with Ford. As an individual, you will just get ignored by the corporate.

Man this sounds HORRIBLE and it's stories like this that abesolutely terrify me, I also live in CO and didn't know the laws where that bad. I don't know how they can legally hold your car for months and not face any reprecussions, sounds like a literal clown world.

Nobody is going to buy a car with a safety system problem. Nobody. I was offered 3k.

Continuation of this:

I am in car hell. 15% of the time I have owned this car it has been stuck at Ford. Lemon Law doesn't work in Colorado. Ford appears to be stuck in its own bureaucracies. 2 dealerships are stuck because of Ford's in house engineers aren't responding. They have had the car since September 7th. 23k miles, dropped off with 8 months left on warranty. Now I only have 3 months left.

If you haven't done so, go to the Ford dealer and find out when the Rep from Ford will be there next. The Rep works directly for Ford and is tasked with solving these types of issues and Dealership satisfaction. Demand from the Dealer to meet with the Ford Rep ASAP! My brother worked doing this for Ford and they are very responsive to issues like this.

Who offered 3k? The dealer?
If what the op is saying is the truth, and I have no reason to think otherwise, there’s a high chance that the dealer has been hanging the op out to dry. There are dealers like that, I dealt with one before the dealership was sold. It would not surprise me if the dealer had not made contact with Ford’s engineers. In fact it might be that the first institutional contact Ford had with this problem was from one of the engineers on this forum. Dealerships are the problem.

Its Ford Engineering. The dealership(s) are super frustrated. Engineering isn't helping them. The last fix attempt was to use TAPE to minimize the radar peripheral functionality. Which isn't fixing the car. It's an attempt to hide the error. I took it for another drive after that sad attempt and the radar stopped working all together. So we are back to square one yet again.

For reasons, I cannot directly contact Ford any longer. They have to contact my people.

You have no idea. I thankfully have the resources to buy another car. In another turn of misfortune it broke OTW home the adaptive light array failed in the dark (RIVIAN R1S) but, they quickly got me a loaner and fixed it

Imagine if this car was my only option? I would be so screwed. Would have lost the ability to travel to work, take kids to activities and school, get groceries etc.

I am a HUGE Ford fan. My family has had 29 Fords. I personally have had 4 including the Mach E. I still have my 1969 Mach 1 i've owned for 35 years. What I will never do is buy another Ford again. Ever.

Do I like the Mach E? I still love that car. It is a really good EV. Compared to the RIVIAN, it holds up very well and many things are significantly better. If Ford ever fixes it, I do plan on keeping it for another 10 years (with a complimentary extended warranty I hope).
