I'm amazed that lemon law/buybacks are so disadvantegeous to consumers in CO, I thought it was pretty much a nationwide norm to have these options. Hope it works out.
So did I. But nope. CO is unique in how horrible the law is. Most of the attorneys said they won't work with clients in Colorado. In fact its so bad nobody actually does Lemon Law in colorado. They are national firms that farm out cash and keep for mass amounts of those paltry settlements that don't really help the consumer.

So the problem is only when the BC is on? Or does it trigger phantom braking even with BC off. If you can ask dealer to turn off the front camera and drive it as a dumb car. It still qualifies as working in my book. Although I will definitely be done with Ford forever. sometimes, you just have to cut the losses.

My car's front camera broke right out of warranty, probably the coaxial cable. Front collision and BC is gone due to not having the camera function. I don't mind at all. Drive it as a dumb car without the assisted feature. Just the message pop up being a little annoy.

I really feel bad for you. Try an email blitz to some VPs.

I suspect this will have the best chance of getting results. I once had a bizarre situation where Apple was completely stuck and couldn't resolve a problem. I email Apple's CEO (Tim Cook) and within a day or two got a response from a problem solver there who took the problem seriously and ultimately got it resolved. Hopefully you can get similar results bygone to the top of the food chain at Ford.

My car thinks it is colliding with another car constantly. Which led to phantom braking followed by instant acceleration while in BC. They have replaced and reprogramed every sensor in the car and the problems won't stop. It at the point where FORD can't help so they have stopped communicating with the dealership. The dealership can't afford to keep replacing every component without certainty of a fix. The dealerships aren't getting authorization from FORD to start throwing parts at the car. The dealerships don't want to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars having to foot the bill without FORD backing.
PM me the VIN and if you have it, the case number with Ford. There is a member here who may be able to help. Unless he contacted you already. If that is the case, then disregard.

It errors out with BC off constantly, but hasn't phantom braked with BC off.

The issue isn't BC - I have maintained it is the front camera (windshield) or its wiring. The problem for the Ford dealership is all of the modules for that collision system apparently involve the BC modules, and sensor modules, and a bunch of other things. They are tied together indirectly. The dealers can't get FORD to replace the camera in the windshield, and other items without a code for it. ITs not throwing a specific code. So FORD is refusing to compensate the dealerships to fix the car. Becuase its not a certain remedy. It is the very definition of a corporate bureaucratic nightmare. That is screwing both myself and the dealerships trying to help me.

I had to buy a new car becuase this has taken so long. I bought a RIVIAN R1S. Which unfortunately keeping with my unlucky streak here.........promptly broke on the way home from delivery. *sigh..... I emailed RJ (CEO) and he called me personally the next day and made things right. So I unfortunately cannot communicate with Ford any longer for reasons we can all guess. I will update everyone in a few months. .....its already been 5 whats another 3 or 4?

so.... if you toggle OFF BlueCruise, and "driver assisted braking", and maybe disconnect the front camera (coaxial connection above rearview mirror), the vehicle should be drivable, right ?! just not with the features you paid for.

personally, I would take the car back, disconnect the crap that is not working right, and just drive it as an "unassisted" car, and shoot for compensation from Ford on what it would cost to remove replace the cameras and BC "package"
I can't work on the car while its under warranty. It would jeopardize any legal footing I may have.

So Ford uses each state's lemon law for buy back. Colorado has the single worst law on the books in the entire nation. My car broke 3 months beyond a 24 month window, but under warranty by over 13k Broke at 22k. So legally it isn't an option.

If I sue I will have to pay for Fords counsel and my own. If I lose (which the letter law all but guarantees I will). The best I can do after that (unless Ford decided to be an upright honest company) is sue for a 'Cash and Keep' where Ford will agree to pay me for not being able to use the car it will be a paltry sum and I will still have a broken car I cannot drive safely which ford is unable to fix.

I am in an awful situation.
Friend, check with a lemon law attorney. Regardless of where you live, Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act offers federal protections and supersedes any state law. You have nothing to loose. They won’t charge for the initial consultation and they will pretty much tell you right away if you have a case.

Yes, I've done this months ago. The Magnusun-Moss-Warranty really doesn't protect when it comes to buy-backs. It is only a tool to exert pressure to help with some consumer relief. It has been deployed.

You might try emailing Jim Farley directly. I did this when I had a relatively minor issue and they took oversight on the case. FYI, this doesn't actually go to Farley, it goes to a team who are there to oversee and create cases. Worth a shot. "[email protected]" <[email protected]>

Contact your local lawmakers and maybe they'll name the new law after you.

no, it wont... unless Ford can prove your work caused the problem. All I would do is unplug the coaxial front cam connector, and turn off BC and driver assist settings.

Well, buy back (like what was recommended) and lemon law are two different things.

Have you gone down the buy back route yet?

side note- love your car.

Here is my 69 Mach 1-

I'll send you a link to my restoration page. On a side note...I need to update my profile as I had to buy another car because the Mach E has been broken so long, without a rental or loaner option.
