I have owned my Mach-e since May 2021 and I absolutely LOVE IT!! I have owned a lot of cars in my life and this is by-far the most exciting and fun to drive. My entire family has gone ev, Audi etron, Blazer ev, equinox ev, Volvo ev, Tesla S, 3, and Y (all teslas have since been traded in due to hating how they do service) and my Ford is the best. However, they all have one thing I don't have, heated rear seats. Can Ford please, please, please think about adding heated seats to the back seat area. My poor daughter freezes even when I pre-heat the car. Has anyone heard that this may be coming down the pike?

This always bugged me, because Ford tried to argue their inadequate cabin heating in temps well below freezing could be addressed by using the heated seats and steering wheel - and then didn't even give everyone heated seats.

Sadly, Ford only seems to be removing features in the Mach E these days.

You can always have them added. I had this done with my 2014 Escape. The kit cost me $150 and $500 to have installed. Of course that was back in 2015 so I'm sure it would be more now but it all depends how much you really want them.

I am in a similar situation but instead of a daughter it’s my old mother freezing in the back seat ? Please Ford! ?

Short answer “No.” Long answer “Our telemetry indicates that customers are not using the feature, so we’ll be focusing on what our customers really want - smaller frunks to provide more space for heat pump components.” ???

Seriously, I don’t think that any Ford vehicles offer heated seats. They are available on some of the higher trim Lincolns. (And we are still waiting for that electric Lincoln ?)

I am also looking to add rear heated seats to my Mach-E. The only option I have found is to take it to an upholstery or auto accessories shop. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Something like this would be the immediate pragmatic approach:

FOMOCO Marketing will only allow that if it introduces a higher end Mach-E trim ala ‘High Country’ type they offer on their trucks, and maybe not even then because it would encroach on Lincoln sales. Remember, by buying a Mach-E we bought a FORD, not a Lincoln. Heated rear seats are regarded as a ‘luxury’ feature, and Ford is not their luxury brand. We’re lucky to be getting ventilated seats.

I ordered a USB heated shoal/blanket from Amazon for my daughter. It plugs into the usb port in the centred conceal in the back.

There have been plenty of ford vehicles with heated rear seats as an option it not a reserved for Lincoln only thing, it is just the mach-e was given the bean counter treatment when it came to the rear, I still remember all those ambient lighting in the rear images :(.

Then again you only need to look at the half arsed usb rear connections that has all the hall marks of a last minute switch out from a 12v connector so its not a surprise. About the only 'premium' thing we got in the rear was soft touch on the door cards, but then again whole front dash is cheap hard scratchy plastics so they must have somehow managed to sneak past.

For an EV where winter range is important the lack of heated rear seats is a real oversight especially at the mach-e price point, its not a luxury vehicle so you would expect any heating to be for the outer two seats only but having none is poor form. With ford and its current EV plans who know if we will ever get a next gen mach-e but if we do they need to keep the bean counters as far away as possible.

The top of the dashboard in China is completely covered in the same vinyl as the top of the door cards and even has white stitching. ?

This is the reason the kids prefer the wifes MY in the winter. The Mach-E gets more love in the warmer months. In CA
