My main reason for registering is in case they take over the app and issue updates. In the email, the cite that as one of the reasons to join them.
...But why would they? The sale of Juice Boxes is over. The only way would be if they could monetize it. Right now the only value of the app is the data base of current customers.

VoltiE has a Level 2 charger for sale on Amazon ($289). Looks exactly a Juice Box unit but says VoltiE and 11 Kv on the front, but says it is a 32 amp unit? Checking further it says it is manufactured in the US by Enel X. Well, I paid twice that for my JB nearly 4 yrs ago.

A few people posted about the switch from Juice Box to VoltiE. I wonder if people are registering. Like the other posters, I have been using my charger as a "dumb" charger and letter my MME handle the brains. I think I will register with them. I don't see the downside although I don't really see an upside either. I will let you know if I regret doing this, or it works out somehow.
I, for one, will register as I use the app to change the amps settings. Being retired my wife and I do mostly short drives around town and keeping the LVB fully charged for OTA updates is problematic. By reducing the amps, the charge time for the HVB is increased allowing the LVB to fully charge as well while still completing a charge overnight. If I need to top up quickly for some reason I simply adjust to maximum amps. I know that there are other ways to keep the LVB fully charged. I just find this simple.

I have not registered and. Probably will not unless there’s a reason to.

I suggest you think very carefully about this. Who are they? Will they end up shutting things down and rendering your charger unusable? What settings can they change on their end without your permission (answer is all of them I believe).

Right now, I don't think there is any reason to sign up. I can see all my current data.

BE VERY AFRAID. ?
One can only speculate, but it looks to me like it's a small Hungarian company that is looking for an entry point to the US market and found a way. So why would they want to piss off a whole bunch of US JB customers.
Their European charger looks pretty classy and they claim all kinds of capabilities via their app. The head guy who developed the chargers did evade a question about capacity (in Europe) but said they can keep up with demand. Maybe the VoltiE JB look alike on Amazon Is just getting rid of excess JB inventory they acquired. If all JB connectivity dies I'll just get another brand smart charger. It's already given me 4 trouble free years. YMMV

I agree. I’m not going to worry about whether or not a Hungarian company trying to make it big in the EU with all of their regulations and oversight has nefarious aspirations in the US market.

I registered with Voltie. They asked for the serial number for my Juicebox charger. Now my app no longer works. I’m not sure if this represents cause & effect, but if your Juicebox app is still working, you may want to hold off on contacting Voltie. I would not have registered if it meant losing my present app.

I didn’t register. I needed a smart EVSE that is compatible with ev.energy in order to get demand charge credit payments from my utility,

I replaced it with an Emporia Level2 EVSE. I sold my JuiceBox 32 on eBay for $175.
