I removed my front wing/handles. I’d guess that isn’t going to be an option on new cars.

I had been considering doing the same. Glad my '23 has the presenters.

Are they a necessity? I suppose not. It is a shame they they were deleted nonetheless.

I wonder if I can disable them on my front doors with a software update. Currently if they don't work there's a bunch of faults/errors to deal with. I'd actually like to not have to listen to the presenter grind away.

They are not necessary at all on the front doors since they have handles to open. I really like they don't have them anymore. Less noise and less parts to fail.

If anyone stumbles across a Forscan setting, I'll happily test out the disabling of them :)

You know what would be really cool? Regular door handles so you can get into your Mach E when the battery is dead.
I've never had an issue opening the doors on any one of the three Mach-E's I have had plus others I have worked on when the battery was disconnected. The cars were not locked and the door modules have capacitors in them to unlatch the door many times (20+) before they give out. Below is a video I took a couple of weeks ago on my '24 when I had my battery disconnected for at least two days working on interior/exterior mods. You do have to push the door button twice and slowly but they have never failed me.

i've always thought the front presenter was just one of many extra tid-bits on this car that is just asking to break over time. which is why i ended up buying the extended warranty

i'm all for having joy and whimsy in a car but there are so many tiny moving parts that are engineered for "cool" factor and not for a 20-year hassle-free ownership. disclaimer, i was mostly a toyota family if you can't tell ?

Wouldn't it be easier to just use the little handle to pull the front door open?
HA! A fair point to be sure. My suggestion was meant to be a last case scenario provided all the other irrational fears of the tiny door handle breaking off or it filling with ice so you can't grab it or de-ice for fear of breaking something. Out of respect for myself, I shall always try your method first.

I just traded in my 2022 MME ER AWD Premium for a 2024 GT October build. I noticed the doors no longer pop out 1-2 inches when pressing the entry button, and the plungers don't seem to be in the doors any more.

When did those get removed, and has anyone discovered any issues with them missing (frozen doors, etc.)?
Got my ‘24 in August- don’t know the build date, but it has the plungers.

While I agree, the issue with the current system is that 99%+ of us probably have walk away lock turned on and the few that don’t reflexively lock the door every time. Until there is a system to unlock a door (or something) when the 12v is ultra low or dead, lockouts will continue. Or we can all try to train ourselves to never lock the cars. ;)

I actually prefer them not being there now. Less weight. ??

lol... we always want what we don't have.... Coming from cars with "typical" door handles, I thought the MME with it's clean side profile was pretty cool. I get the whole emergency entry thing, but I think there are better options than mechanical door handles.

The rear doors still have the presenters like always, they only deleted the front ones.
The cost cutting is in full effect.
If ford really wanted to save money, they should just put exterior door handles on the back doors and remove the presenters altogether.

The obvious answer why they did not redesign the back doors with handles is the engineering, retooling, and re-training costs are so high, it is cheaper to just keep installing the presenters.

This does not bode well for Fords long term success.
What is the over/under for when Ford files bankruptcy? 5 years?
