I placed my order on 1/30 for a Premium AWD EX and still have not received a build date. When I asked my dealer yesterday I was told there is a shortage on extended range batteries

I placed my order for a GT on 2/12 and received a build date the next day. It has an extended range battery.

That sounds fishy to me. Did the order actually get submitted to Ford? Check for an email from Ford, maybe in your spam folder, it could be a text message also. I would be suspicious that the dealer is sitting on your order and has not submitted it to Ford if you don't have a build week assigned yet after almost 3 weeks.

The 2025 GT has the old extended range battery (91kWh) vs the non-GT which has a new 88kWh battery now.

Maybe the new 88kWh pack is coming from the LGES Michigan plant and it’s not at full production capacity yet?

I called my local dealer today. I told him I plan on coming in Thursday 2/20 to place the order for a Premium EX SportPackage. He told me lead time is about 14 weeks?!? We shall see after I place order and update this thread.

I'm getting really nervous. My Mach E is scheduled for production the week of March 10. If there is a large tarriff slapped onto the price tag, I'm not going to be able to afford it. I've been excited about this car for a long time.

I'm sure quite a few of us will back out if this happens. What's the latest on the Mexican tariffs anyway? Are they a for sure my a certain date, holding for now, Trump just making everyone nervous and uncertain? Thinking about the pros and cons of buying a 24 vs a 25 that now includes this tariff mess.

That is the USABLE size, I don't know that the full size (99 KWH?) has changed. There is a built in buffer between the full size and usable size. At one time they were all 88KWH usable, then they bumped it up to 91 on some (?) of them.

That is what I suspect. Perhaps they did not give Ford the email or text number to send out status to. The " shortage on extended range batteries" sounds like a story since nobody else seems to be saying that. I ordered on 11/29, got a build week from Ford on December 5th, they said week of Feb 17th. My dealer told me last week that was still on track. His days off are during the week days, so I don't expect to hear more until Thursday or Friday.

Ironically, if there's a tariff price increase it'll be out of my budget and I'll likely back out and end up getting a foreign EV.
