Something in the wheel well snapped off in the cold during normal city driving, cause for concern?

The rear passenger side wheel had what looks like a plastic mud flap of some kind snap off at the bottom of the wheel well. Second image is the rear driver's side with the piece in tact.

It's cold today, but this was just regular driving on city streets. Is this something worth fretting over and repairing?

It broke off because plastic breaks in the cold when hit by something, like frozen snow. Easily replaced when you get a chance. No urgency.

I had one of those 2 attachment points pop off due to some road debris that luckily didn't take out the tire. I'll get around to getting that fixed at some point, but it really isn't affecting anything for now.

Those are aerodynamic deflectors. As was said, no urgency to replace at this time. Your efficiency in the cold and snow will only be slightly affected. ??

That is a mud flap. The part that broke off of Scott's car is an air deflector and not in the same area as a mud flap would be since it sits in front of the tire, not behind it.

Scott (sjmDrum) the part number for that air deflector is LJ8Z-5811398-C.
It is easy to replace held on by two screws (one is underneath) and a push pin retainer.

Mine keeps popping off. I went to auto zone and picked up a pack of those plastic rivet clips and keep it in my car. When it pops off, I just replace it.

If that part keep popping off, are you sure the screw under the part has not fallen off? It is not a push pin retainer and if that screw is not there the part will start flapping back and forth and pull those push pin retainers out.

Also worth noting, if you never get out of the city, there is no point to them. As pointed out earlier, they are part of the aero package, and deflect air off the tires at highway speeds, for improved fuel efficiency.

The snow and ice from the front wheel builds up under the rocker panel and when it breaks off this is the kind of damage you get. The splash guards work great to not only stop this but it also protects against paint chips from the salt and anti skid material used in the snowy states.
