An installation by anyone without a license poses a greater risk of fire. Proper wire sizing, whether to use copper or aluminum wire, making connections properly is more important than you can imagine. I bet any fires reported were not started by the car itself but by the installer. No, I am not an electrician; I have some knowledge of it.Do you have any (verifiable) examples of an EV catching fire in a garage when charging?
