Reaching in the back seat for a stupid flannel, that I shouldn't need to wear when i go into the office but it's like 67 degrees at my stupid desk, I actually climbed the curb and removed what appears to be more concrete from the street than aluminum from my wheel.
The wheel fared very well considering the weight of the car. I'm to OCD to resolve Stance's dual brushed finish and spend hours trying to make perfect only to know it's not.

I expected to have de-beaded the tire at least but knope, it did. quite well.
Thanks to Vibe for a quick invoice on a replacement.

Bummer!

The first time I was on my way to Mark Boris' place, I turned into a Starbucks with the world's worst parking lot design. You had to make a sharp right turn around a concrete curbed off little island that served no purpose but to jump out and pounce on unsuspecting virgin wheels. Got the rear right but good. Happy I was not. But I'm too cheap to do anything about it, so I live with it. Happily the sidewall is intact.

What the heck is going on??? Today, turning into the Safeway parking lot that happens to be under construction, I clipped the right rear wheel against a curb corner. I've gone in this parking lot hundreds of times but with the construction cones and changed areas, guess I miscalculated. This is the first time I have damaged a custom wheel that I can remember. Glad I will be changing to my summer set soon so I can have this wheel repaired. ?

There are places that can get rid of curb rash. Or watch a YouTube video or 3z if I had done that to Otto, the latter is what I would’ve done. If ?

Yeah, I know I could have it done or try to do it myself. But I figure it will eventually have company so ...

I happen to have seen Erik do this, and was frankly surprised he's allow to drive. Sure, he's got glasses, but really, Erik, it may be time to hand over the keys...

The photo in my post above, I had already smoothed out the rough parts with my Dremel, then wet sanded it to bring the polish aluminum back but of course it still needs more work which I cannot do.

Ok, I was going to say that didn't look bad at all.

I did not take a photo of it before but it looked just like yours kind of jagged and sharp edges. I used the fine stone wheel on the Dremel then used the polishing wheel then hand wet sanded it to get the polished aluminum again. There are still chunks out of the aluminum though. At least now standing from about 8 feet back you really cannot tell there is an issue unless you really look for it.

The hits keep coming.
Whilst pulling the wheel off to double check I didn't bend/break or loosen anything when kerbwackin I figured I'd check the nuts torque on the front swaybar endlink.

Ahh Coconuts! wasn't what I said. (Truth told these are pretty chewed up from the countless times they have been uninstalled/reinstalled and I used red loctite the last time I installed them. Which worked I guess.) Anyway the part is MEF-595 used on 18+ vehicles so they're in stock at most dealers and ~$61 + $5 for 1 nut and $2 for the other. This did make me finally break down and buy some ratcheting wrenches so I could triple the repair cost as well.

I also put the nuts on wrong, the longer nut should be up top. So rather than the PITA it is to swap the nuts around I added some extra umph. It cost.
