Kidding aside, if it's a car dealer that has a good reputation (and they can definitely vary), they probably won't want to risk damaging their reputation with BS. I know nothing about Galpin Ford (it's all the way on the other side of the country), but presumably they have earned a good reputation by actually being fairly ethical as far as car dealers go.

I (and others I know) have certainly avoided repeat business with certain dealers due to their questionable behavior.
Galpin is one of the biggest Ford dealers in Socal next to Ken Grody and Villa Ford.

California.

My cars are out of Villa Ford in orange but my 25 is a premium with sport package so maybe not so lucky. I will be getting more info on Monday

My expectation and experience of trustworthiness and general truthiness of this profession ranks right up there with my Army Recruiter back in the 90s.

Fair, but some are, shall we say, worse than others.

What about this photo confirms that it's a 2025?
Inevitable question...
I have been posting here for years, nobody has ever accused me of trolling.

Galpin Ford is the #1 or #2 dealership in the country by volume for the last 30+? years?

My sales guy at Galpin is their top guy, in fact he is the VIP sales manager - not that I'm a VIP. When someone like Jay Leno wants a ford, this is the guy that would handle the sale. He accepts customers by referral from existing clients and provides AAA service. He has a reputation. I've previously purchased 3 vehicles from him, including the Second F150 Lightning to be sold by Galpin.

I send him worthwhile referrals, he takes good care of me - we both win. I trust him. You can trust me, or not, doesn't matter because some will doubt no matter what.

Finally, if I wanted to do a more convincing photo I have the photoshop skills to make a 24 look like a 25 and even to add a fake window sticker if I wanted - don't want. While I was doing that someone else would be posting a photo. I'd rather share the news with those that know and trust me than convince you. If you think it's fake, I don't care. I'm not abusing my relationship with this guy to ask for more detailed photos - it is what it is.

Its what he sent me - I trust him

For the most part you are 100% but it looks like he has a good connection to his dealer. Mine is similar, I only talk to one person at my dealer who is the fleet manager for over a decade.

Looks a lot like a 2021 to me from that angle.

Shift knob or it's fake.

Didn't question you and had no intention of making this personal. I was just saying the picture didn't show anything that would confirm it was for sure a 25. A couple other members here had dealers try to say that late 24 arrivals were 25's. Sounds like you have done a lot of business with Galpin and are happy with them. I tried to purchase a Lightning from them last September, and it didn't go well. Ended up buying elsewhere after getting the run around from them for over 3 weeks.

Those specific black wheels are a 2025 factory option.

Now sure, someone could have bought 2024 Premium wheels, painted them black, installed them on a Select, and taken that picture.

But that seems like an oddly specific set of circumstances to try and fake having a 2025 on the lot.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize those wheels were 25 specific. I stand corrected.

I don't mind. Its just that Neil's job is to sell cars and support his customers, not take photos for internet boards. I'm not going to ask him to send something more convincing. Thats just not our relationship.

When I asked for the photo from him 1 of two things would have happened: Either he writes back and says he had been mistaken somehow, or he sends a photo. I sent exactly what I got.

I'm not motivated enough to go to the Galpin site and see if its listed as inventory. Might or might not but you guys are welcome to sleuth things out if you want - I got what I needed. Kind of. I mean MY car is still sitting in Dallas. I ordered on the first morning and based on the vin its probably one of the very first cars - but apparently they are doing the last in first out thing. I could, and want to gripe about my car not coming sooner, but for now I'll take solace in the fact that progress is being made.

So, I'm not upset that some are skeptical, that's cool. if I left out a detail that helps you guys let me know, but I don't want to spend the evening arguing the merits of the photo. I'm here to share good news, not convince you.

I will add that if you live in OC that its convenient to shop there, but when I was looking at getting my First Mach E and again on my maverick I went to the dealer in Orange - they marked the car up insane amounts (in 2022), added $7000 for wheels, and so on. Sunrise Ford in The SF Valley just blatantly put premiums on their cars too, because they could. In the End Buying a car in Orange County seems to be 10%+ more expensive. On each of my 3 previous orders Galpin honored my X plan, worked to find me better rebates, and so on.

I just don't understand paying an extra $10k on a car when the alternative is to find a dealer within an hour to two that would save me from all the drama. The dealer in Orange left a bad impression on me.
