Cracked glass roof

I don’t know why they make the black painted roof an option on the Select but not Premium or GT.

I may have considered that over a glass roof but I for sure didn’t want a body colored roof since the MME has those large black roof side rails to hide the true roofline.

A black wrap on the metal roof would have been cheaper (and lighter) than the glass roof... ?‍?

Probably, but I previously had a roof wrap on my old BMW and the paint underneath was completely discolored from the adhesive when I removed the wrap after like 3-4 years. It was 3M vinyl too, not some cheap no name vinyl. Makes me weary of any wrap that will stay on the car for a long period.

Weight isn’t a concern for me on a 5000lb EV SUV.

That was a true statement until recently when glass roof became an option, not standard.

Thanks for the update. I did buy my 24 Mach-e Prem in Oct of 24, 7 mos ago. It must have just happened.

It probably happened before then. But sales people are not knowledgeable at all about these cars. There are many horror stories about that.

Weight is a concern for every car I own, especially if it's up high. The glass roof was a deal-breaker for both of my GTs. Too much aeronautic and race involvement, I guess. ?‍?

My 2024 Premium has a metal roof. And it is the they found in the color I wanted which was in January. I like glass roofs but ones that open. In the days when you don’t need the AC and you zooming about town out on the highway it’s a great way to get some air without the buffeting wind through any open window. So I passed on the glass roofs, all
That heat from the sun and nothing useful.

I took delivery of mine on 11/01/24. It was in the dealer’s expected inventory in May.
