I have a new 2024 Mach e. Drove it under 1000 miles before I discovered a crack in the Panoramic glass roof. Nothing has hit it as I’ve driven it. The crack was submitted to ford for warranty, but denied. Has anyone else had a denied claim for a glass roof. I’ve seen a number of approvals, but shocked mine was denied. I will file an appeal with some better photos.

Drive thru car wash? Sudden/extreme temperature change? That’s so weird to just crack for no reason, especially under 1000 miles

You could have an injury to the roof glass while you are asleep at night and the car is stationary.
Any object from above could impact in the right spot with the necessary force and you wouldn't have witnessed it or known. And it could have happened weeks/months previously and not been obvious or visible until it made its run, so to speak.

Still, it's a bummer that warranty is a debate. Since it's glass, would it be an insurance claim?

On my UK insurance full length glass roofs are NOT covered so full replacement cost for me if it happens. ?

Some policies did cover it but the total cost was 2 to 3 times more expensive. It's a gamble unfortunately.

This is an insurance claim not a warranty issue. Just pay the deductible and move on.

You have multiple cracks emanating from different locations. I had a similar situation that was covered by warranty. My car had about 3000 miles on it when I took a trip to Texas. It cracked while sitting in the direct sun on a 113F day.

Was the denial from Ford or just the dealer?

Note to MySelf: for once you were smart. Avoiding the glass roof even though it meant weeks of shopping to find your vehicle. After seeing a few stories of how hard and long it was to get replacements (not to mention some cost) you knew with your luck, you'd be one of the poor people duking it out with the dealership. Now MySelf, stop patting yourself on the back and go back to your usual doltish decision making.

@rpeterslll Yes, I had a similar thing happen about 2 years ago. Noticed the cracks and couldn’t see any dings from a rock. Took it to the dealer for that and other things. Service rep and a technician and a manager all seemed to think that it must be a stress crack because they could find no dings. Ford denied the warranty claim. Called the BEV people and they opened a case. They subsequently denied it as well, stating emphatically to me that there was no way this could have happened without some sort of impact.

Look up your warranty. There is a procedure listed there where you can appeal to the Better Business Bureau. I did this. It was VERY easy and all done on line. The BBB responded within a few days and started the process. Ford offered to pay for the replacement less about $200 to me. That whole process was about a week or two. I accepted and the dealer fixed it per the agreement. The net result was about the same as going through my insurance but it was the principle for me. The retail cost was about $1400 if I had to pay out of pocket. As an aside, I had previously had the glass resealed via the early recall - no proof that caused the crack but it could have.

I have a 2021 and my roof cracked. I determined it was a stone that did the damage. Full glass coverage covered the repair. No deductible in AZ. handled flawlessly by the glass company and my dealer

Yup. I waited a few months to get a premium with a metal roof.

"The crack was submitted to ford for warranty, but denied."
The problem here is that 75% of the posts use the term "Ford" when they mean "dealership". In this case, I think the OP mean Ford Corporate, but...

I would open a case with the BEV team and ensure it's been reviewed at the proper level within Ford.

Oh my gosh. I had no idea you could order one that way. I was told no, all the premiums have a glass roof. Darn!
That was a true statement until recently when glass roof became an option, not standard.

I don’t know why they make the black painted roof an option on the Select but not Premium or GT.

I may have considered that over a glass roof but I for sure didn’t want a body colored roof since the MME has those large black roof side rails to hide the true roofline.
