I've read that the Eibach GT lowering springs are not supposed to work with the Magneride suspension but has anyone tried to or installed them on a magneride equipped Mach E? I ask because I read a thread somewhere that someone may have installed them on their Magneride equipped GT.

I am not 100% certain on magneride but ride hight is probiby preset from the factory for the system to work properly.

Someone more technical could could confirm or correct my statement.

Eibach has not tested them on the GT-PE. @markboris installed them on his GT-PE a while back. They seem to work fine. ??

Shannon, I installed Eibach's lowering springs (GT w/o MagneRide version Part #: E10-35-054-04-22) on my GTPE with MagneRide.

Here is a thread I just posted: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/eibach-lowering-springs.33310/

not sure when these popped up but since i was looking at getting the sway bars, it looks like eibach finally came out with springs compatible with the GT w/magneride. looks like slightly less drop than the AWD spring:

Yes and I have a problem with these. As I mentioned last year when I installed the springs for the GT (non GTPE with mag ride) in my GTPE with magride, you cannot shorten the bump stops in the front and for the rear in order to shorten them you have to cut off the shock dust cover. The GT has 1/ 1/2" (yes ONE and ONE HALF INCHES) of shock travel before you hit the factory bump stops. With these springs, they are dropping the front 1.2" and the rear 1.1" which means you have about 1/4" of front shock travel and 3/86" of rear shock travel before hitting bump stops. The stock 1 1/2" of travel is bad enough without making it less. This is why these lowering springs are not as low as their other Mach-E springs. They supply shortened bump stops with all their other lowering springs but not with these.

While I did lower my '21 GTPE even though I could not reduce the height of the front bump stop, I will not be lowering my '24. I prefer to have all the suspension travel I can get which makes for a much better ride not hitting those bump stops so frequently. It was not much of an issue for me since I rarely have rear passengers but as soon as you do, the rear is resting on those bump stops ALL THE TIME and I'm sure you can guess what the ride is like.

If anyone with a GTPE with Magneride is thinking of installing these for a smoother ride (which I wouldn't since the Magneride suspension already gives you a decent ride) it won't be as smooth as the regular GT springs. The reason is you need progressive springs for a softer ride and the front springs on this GTPE kit have linear springs in the front.

I updated my thread and added the specs on these springs to it:
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/eibach-gt-pro-kit-lowering-springs-on-a-gtpe.33310/

The specs for these springs:
Lowering Pro-Kit
Mach-E GTPE (with Magneride suspension)
Part# E10-35-054-05-22 Pro-Kit
Front - 211 lbs (linear)
Rear - 799-1089 (progressive)
Lowers: 1.2" Front, 1.1" Rear

great points mark! i was tempted, but like the ride of the GT PE too much to trade that for the asthetics of a 1" drop :) now just looking for a deal on the sway bars...

Hey Mark, now with the new baby I have the whole family in the car more often with all the associated gear (car seat, stroller, supplies, wife, dog) I have noticed I am hitting the bump stops a lot more frequently with the GTPE and original GT Eibach springs. Both the front and the rear are hitting about equal rates. A few times per mile maybe depending on the road.

My question is do I need to worry about damage to the shocks over time? If so, I might look into putting the factory springs back on or possibly these new Eibachs if there was any point. But if it's just a comfort/noise issue and there's no damage I will just leave as I still like the look and performance.

Hey Erich, no wonder haven't heard from you in awhile.... I actually forgot you had a little one arrive.

There is nothing wrong with the back end hitting the bump stops more often. It will not ruin anything. If you change to the OEM springs you will loose that performance and the look which is what you wanted in the Eibach's.

OK great, I will leave them on then!

And yes the baby has been taking up all of my free time but it's getting easier now. She always gets nice and happy while riding in the Mach E. We are going to try a road trip up to the Mendocino coast for a few days.
