@kennethjk and @markboris Thank you both, the additional information and photos are very helpful. It is great to see two slightly different approaches using the same materials.

They're not a perfect match with Grabber Blue but they do nicely. I used Gorilla Tape in addition to the single screw and backing plate.

I did exactly how you did it in the video. No problems. They aren't going anywhere. Don't feel like it needs 3m tape etc. I used the same marker too. Love that thing. Marked my house numbers on my trash cans too! Thanks. Debating on the stickers...seems like the red pucks should be enough with the highlighted arrows.

Great video Rob. I went with black pads and lift stickers because I didn't want them to be noticeable at all from looking at the sides (only while looking under the car). I'm the only one that works on my car (until I get the HVBJB replaced) but I think colored pads are definitely more noticeable than black ones even with stickers and for owners that are always having their cars worked on (tire rotations, changing to winter tires, etc.) that is the way to go.

Love the "Lift Here" sticker. Where did you get that?

I see Ken beat me to it again. 😊

Yes Amazon.

And I didn’t upload photos of my black pucks because Ken did a great job taking photos of his.

Curious about galvanic corrosion impacts with these in areas with road salt. The aluminum may act as a sacrificial anode for the pack and end up welding itself to it with corrosion. They may end up looking pretty crusty after a year of salt. Salt water may also stay trapped between the puck and the battery case, causing it to rust out under the puck.

I can see this possibly being a problem with some people but I wouldn’t have that issue as it doesn’t snow around where I live much and when it does they don’t put anything on the roads since it’s rare.

Ken, I’m just as retired as you are and like helping out on this forum as much as I can but I also travel quite a bit. Actually on a plane right now to Italy for a few days so won’t be on here as much for while.

@markboris enjoy your trip

@Mach-Lee , good point about corrosion but the puck doesn’t touch the battery case.

It touches just the lift point metal, I would assume that’s a bit better but aren’t both corrosion protected anyway. . In any case moving my car to florida for the winter and if in the snow I guess I will have to flush it out from time to time.

Interesting thought. Maybe cut a circular rubber gasket, of sorts, to place between the puck and the car...

Good idea but mine are already on the car so I thought maybe some type of caulking , silicone around the edge of the puck might suffice

Ive done mines quite a while back. Used automotive goop for the puck, and blue loctite on screw. been about 7-8 months now with no issues. Dealership jacked the car up from there when i did my rotation recently.

I installed mine this evening. Of course I didn't see Lee's post about galvanic corrosion until after I used red Loctite on the screws. (I figured, I'm never going to want to remove these suckers...🤪) Luckily I don't live in snow/ice country!
