The next chemistry that SK Innovation will use is Lithium Iron Phosphate which does not heat up as fast but drops energy density since each cell only reaches 3.2 VDC when fully charged. So you may get a lighter EV due to less cooling needs but lesser range. What would you prefer...
How about the price? Last night I read that the basic Model Y price increased to $59,000, while a basic Select Mach-E is around $42 ,000. I don't drive around racing other cars, so that 5 second limit is pointless. But the $17,000 differente does make a huge point.
Munro was right about all those hoses. My Fusion Hybrid has a gas engine but much fewer hoses up front. Probably because its traction battery in the trunk is air cooled.
The answer depends on what will you do to it. If you just want perfomance, go for the Model Y. For everything else, Including a better daily driver, go for the Mach-E. And the Federal tax credit will apply with the Mach-E only.
Wider track between wheels is better for stability but wider tires are not better. Besides, a wider track is a bigger collision risk when driving in heavy traffic jams. Only car racers want wider tracking. For the layperson driving in traffic, a thinner car width is safer and better but bad for...
Your post is very true. Friction depends on the pressure (pounds per square inch) between the surfaces, so a wider tire will apply less pressure because it increases the area for the same weight thus less pounds per square inch. I would recommend adding more air pressure to harden the tire and...
As a child I saw my father and other relatives using the knob type spinner. I added that type of spinner to my previous two cars which had hard steering wheels and they helped a lot. I cannot put one now in my Fusion because the wheel is too thick and covered with a cushioning plastic. The...
If there were no law, how would you classify my Fusion which was assembled September 13th, 2013 and bought September 21st, 2015 unused and brand new?
According to that law it is a 2014 model year.
The first "cousin" of the Ford Mustang Mach-E may be the Lincoln Mark E which is based on the same Mach-E Platform but will follows the Lincoln Zephyr prototype.
"Reports say that the Lincoln Mark E will ride on a modified version or an evolution of the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s RWD/AWD EV...
In my Fusion Hybrid the stylofoam block holds the air pump (tire mobility kit) and car jack. The unique detail is that it is shaped exactly like the space to hold a spare tire
Thomas Edison wanted Henry Ford to build electric cars, but Henry didn't want to. Yet Clara Ford did drive a 1914 Detroit Electric that used Edison cells, even established some road trip records for a woman. That electric car is still drivable, only needing a charge to run...
