Yesterday while 30miles from home I returned to my Mach e and it would not start, cluster showed 2 warnings: “stop safely now” and “full accessory battery”

This is happening only 10 days after my car was with Ford for the day to address 2 other warnings: “high voltage battery” and “drivetrain”.

Initiated roadside assist through the app. First, tow company came and seemed disinterested in the warnings on the screen, just wanted to jump the 12V. Wasn’t surprised it didn’t solve anything. Also said he couldn’t tow because he needed a dolly. Drove away.

Had to submit an 2nd request and wait an additional 2 hours for a 2nd tow company. Once arrived took him nearly 1.5 hrs to figure out how to put the car in neutral before we could begin loading the car and head to my local Ford dealership.

I am now wondering what to expect and other experiences/advice that owners have had.

Glad you were able to get your car towed safely.

So what exactly did your A++ dealer do the first time when you took your car to them? Do you have the paperwork from that "service" visit?

You probably needed a new Junction Box then, and instead of doing the right thing (read: ordering a replacement part), it sounds like your dealer sent you on your way to get stranded when your Junction Box finally completely failed.

You should check out the first post here, I bet you need a new junction box and this should answer your questions:

I would assume your car was built before May of this year and you have the dreaded HVBJB failure. More than likely the actual issue from your previous trip to dealer. Please read the thread mentioned as there are some steps you can take that may speed up the repair process.

The car was in twice in the past month for the drive train and high voltage warnings.

Ten days ago 10/5/22 they performed “recall 22S41 - Module update” updates pcm, sobdm, becm, sobdmc and abs modules”

on Sept 14 they did recall 21P22- “ Reprogram powertrain control module using Ford diagnosis And repair system, up to additional 12 modules

That sucks. You had the hallmark of a failing HVBJB and instead of following the proper TSB for your DTC’s, they half assed and pretty much guaranteed you’d get stranded. Please report this to Ford. The TSBs are written at about a 6th grade level. It isn’t hard to follow.

Since they have my car, should I wait until they service before reporting?

I would not. I would shine a spotlight on their ineptitude and let Ford make sure they get it right this time.
Also new HVBJBs are in short supply so opening a case with the BEV team at Ford can help get the part expedited.

read the first post on This thread for some in-depth guidance.

I got the same message a few days ago. It would only go into Accessory Mode when trying to start it. But on the 3rd or 4th attempt to start, it came on normally.

A few days before that I got a momentary "12V Battery Fault Service Soon" message when trying to start the car, that flashed for 2-3 seconds.

Pretty sure it was all from the 12V battery getting too low, which causes the computer to throw phantom errors. And needs a good charge.

Here's a thread on it.

Hey there! I can look into your Mach-E’s concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

This is yet another story, to my way of thinking anyway, of Ford dealerships having no interest in the Mach-E line other than how much they can get for ADM. This isn’t a new issue, this is a well published/documented issue, and if they didn’t want to actually do the work, they could have referred him to a dealership who does have an EV tech.

It’s all just utterly disappointing. I love the car, but I’m really not impressed with the dealership network compared to every other car brand I’ve owned. The service and professionalism at Ford’s dealer network is lacking compared to Honda, Toyota, Acura, Volkswagen, and Jeep at least (those with whom I have extensive experience).

Now that I think about it, it’s kind of on-par with Chevrolet, though. ?

Ouch. Please call Ford’s customer assistance line and ask for the BEV team to get a case assigned. 1-800-392-3673 ☹?

Update: Yesterday I opened a case with a BEV rep. The dealership does not have a loaner and is unsure whether they will have one by the end of the week. They have told me they are also only willing to cover $40 per day for a rental. We are getting quotes over $140 per day. Up to this point we are lucky to have gotten by without renting but tomorrow is a different story.

The car as expectedl needs a new junction box which is on back order. They can’t really give me an estimated timeline until they know the part is on the way.
