And the moral of our story appears to be end the 2025 stop sale as quickly as you can! I don't love it, but I understand it.
The update to end the 25 stop sale was like 2 months ago at this point.

Since my 25 GT was produced in July, and delivered in August, would this same protocol apply to me? I am assuming the same patch has already been applied before delivery.

Nice. None of the local Ford dealers here do mobile service yet. The funny thing is that a neighbor has a Rivian R1S and the mobile tech for it was driving a Transit van. 🤪🐩
Tesla's mobile service out here uses Transit vans as well. Gas-powered ones. ;)

You should have the update installed on your 2025 MY since the recall was issued back in June. Ford dealerships couldn't sell you the car unless the update was applied. You can check Ford Pass, Service, Active Recalls or look up your vin on https://www.nhtsa.gov/ for active recalls.

Is this recall only in the US, or everywhere? Mine does not state in Fordpass that there is a recall? (MY2023, Netherlands)
It's currently only a US recall. I don't even think that the Canadians have gotten on this one yet. 🤔🐩

The process I use for changing the 12V battery (one time so far!) is 1) shut down, 2) open hood and get various tools, 3) remove a bunch of plastic covers, 4) loosen the cross support bar over the battery and move it out of the way, 5) remove the battery hold down bar, 6) remove battery terminals, ... Steps 1-5 will take me about 12.5 minutes, so I am safe.
Make a coffee will give you a bigger margin of safety.

Seem no just checked
I should have noted that even if it doesn't become a recall outside of the US that once it becomes an OTA the OTA will eventually make it to cars outside of the US. 😁🐩

We’ve had the recall but no update to apply software to 2021-2024 yet. Still waiting to bring my new 2024 MME home from a Canadian dealership.

That is a very good question. Those of us with access here in the US will get our accounts hammered if we look up VINs from outside the US....so we can't really answer the question. However, if you call your servicing dealer and ask them if FSA 25S65 applies to your car then they should be able to tell you.

They have recall in Canada but I think take time to dealers to do

For anyone here with interest, I just updated my 2021 RWD MME PCM and SOBDMC modules using FDRS. I also had a BECM update waiting, so I completed that one, too. All, including setup and takedown of my FDRS equipment, took about 45 minutes with no drama.

Here are the changes for my MME:
  • PCM – MJ98-14C204-BSE to -BSG
  • SOBDMC – N98-14G069-MP to -MS
  • BECM - NJ98-14C197-AN to -AP
I also submitted the completion of Recall 25S65 through FDRS, and as reported by other members, it worked fine and gave me a "complete" result, as shown below:

That last paragraph is concerning. Think of all the people replacing their own 12v batteries in the future, or an independent mechanic, or AAA... Yikes!

Really wish this was an OTA update, pain taking it in for it.
All it takes is a few lines of code to cut power to the 12V battery during those 12 minutes when the frunk is opened. Close the frunk and the 12 minute timer can resume if it needs to. Who hires these developers?

I had scheduled a mobile repair for the software update. My Ford dealership called me and informed we are not doing the mobile software update anymore as to update issues occuring. They will pick up car and do it at the dealership. The dealer also has to figure out why my collision system/ driver assist & etc keeps turning off while I am driving the car then reboots itsself about 15 minutes later and comes back to life.

They informed we have to keep your car for 24 hours to run all diagnostics, and see what it returns.

Not much bothered as my dealership is good and also the largest dealership in the DFW area.

Back to my Toyota highlander for a few days next week.
