I'm brand new to the board, my first post was adding to another thread and I wanted to post separately as to not hijack the conversation. And thank you for contributing to this board, it's saving me money!

My purchase is a 2021 Premium with the extended range, 26k miles in the upgraded white paint. The car is from the ford buyback program, got a new battery, wiring redone, new charge port and charge port wiring. I bought Premiumcare warranty 9yr/125k and am now getting a better price for it of $2400, giving me 7 years/100k remining, at which point the car is 9 yrs old. Is this worth it? Some say bank, self-insure, and get interest instead. What would you do, is it worth it or would you bank the money instead.?

I'm not sure, the ones I got the best pricing from did not sell to CA. But, have you tried on Ford's site? I think it should work for CA and then you can also see the pricing. Ford will route it to a dealer that can do the paperwork. https://fordprotect.ford.com/premium-maintenance-plan
Wonder what laws the dealers lobbied for to prevent online sales by Ford in California. I guess I have to talk
Ford Mustang Mach-E 2021 Mach e premium x range IMG_6584
to my local Ford dealer. The link did help- thank you!

Skip the extended warranty. I've owned 8 other cars. Everytime I was offered an extended warranty. Number of times when that extended warranty would've paid off? 0. And this is across multiple brands.

This has generally been my approach for all of my vehicles. I'll be interested to see how the First Editions Mach-E's hold up once their warranties expire. Will give me a little bit to decide whether an extended warranty is worth it (I'm not taking delivery for another month or so).

IMO there are even fewer reasons to buy an extended warranty on a BEV compared with an ICE vehicle, and I have never purchased one for my ICE vehicles. Bank it. Or spend it on something else, like a big keg party.

I purchased a Ford ESP extended warranty. At the time, there were four companies I found that sold online at a discount (I am in California):
All sell at a great discount and you can get pricing instantly online. This is a commodity and it's the same product no matter who you buy it from. I would definitely get the Ford warranty and not third-party.

I generally agree but the cost of an extended on the MME is relatively cheap and it might be worth it. I haven’t done so but I can understand someone buying one. A ton of things can go wrong and if you are intent on holding it for a very long time it might make sense.

most warranty’s are many thousands, 2500-3500. the MME , 8 years $100 deductible 100k miles is around 1500 if under 3 years old. Decent price considering.

my 911 is 9 years old and the only thing that went was the main GPS screen under regular warranty. I had a BMW for 9 years and something went wrong under regular warranty nothing after. My Macan was 7 years old and nothing went wrong after regular warranty.

Hmmm, maybe it doesn’t make sense but I am not sure I trust Ford as much as the others.

just talked myself out of the extended warranty,LOL
