These must be the last 2021 models. I don’t see how they can build and deliver these Mach Es before the end of the year.

Given that production for the 22s starts at the end of November, does this mean that either you get scheduled this week or you get to figure out whether your order is cancelled or changed to a 22 or whatever is happening with that?

The video posted with the interview with Darren Palmer talks in good detail about the chip issues. He says they had to allocate all their Mach E allotment to Europe these last few weeks because they must hit their EV quotas there. I think that explains the delays for US customers these last 2-3 weeks (I saw my production week move back 2 weeks).

A separate, sort of silver lining, he talked about was the progress they are making getting all the software in the car fully enabled. It sounds like they aren’t fully ready (I actually interpreted it as not fully confident to do it at scale) for OTA so some software updates need to be done at the dealer (or you wait). But, those issues should be finalized by end of Sept/October meaning cars built then should be fully enabled. My optimistic side says the wait may mean fewer “out of the box” issues for the later builds.

I’ll go grab a link to the thread and add it…

I don’t think your order will be cancelled. Ford will just convert it to a 2022. I don’t see how they can build 2021s in November and have them delivered before January 1

If my order gets changed to a 22 will I get to pick from new colors if they come out?

Also for the last week the Ford site will not load my order. Dealer says it's still showing the same thing: Waiting on build date. But I cant see it anymore ?

For those who have iconic silver it’s balanced out.

Ford doesn’t legally need to deliver in calendar year 2021, they just need to complete production within the time frame of Jan 2 2020 through Dec 31 2021 to call it a 2021.

That makes more sense Thanks
