I have a Lectron J-1772 extension cord that I use a lot at campgrounds and sometimes even at home. It’s safer and will work whether you end up using a 220v or 110v outlet.

I wouldn’t buy a cheap extension cord. The one you linked is very unlikely to have been made well enough to carry a 50A load for many hours. You’re considering plugging a $70 high-load carrying device into your $50k car and into a multi-hundred-thousand-house. Consider spending a bit more for something more reliable.

A2ZEV carries a UL, CE, and FCC certified J1772 extension.

If you have need for a 50A 240V extension cable for other purposes, find one for welding and then get the adapters you need to fit the house plug.

We'll be going to the outer banks in Oct for a week, and the house we rented has a 2nd floor dryer connection by a window. If I purchased something like this, I should be able run it down and connect to my ford charger, correct?

Those cheap 50A extension cords are a fire waiting to happen. I would only buy a Camco brand, but even those have quality issues sometimes and melt.

We had a similar thought last year. When we got to the house the washer and dryer were a stacked unit. Code required them to be secured to the wall and could not be moved. We resorted to loaning our car to one of the kids that were staying at a hotel in town that had 240 charger circuits in the garage.

OBX is an electric desert - only fast charger I found was a Tesla charger at a mall. The good news is that it will work with the MachE with the Ford Adaptor (or others, I expect, but I have experience using the Ford one).

You can also just hook up the 120v charger. Yes, it takes a long time to charge, but if your at the beach, hopefully your plan is to spend it on the sand, and not driving all over. Hopefully you are walking distance from the ocean. This is what I did before I got the Tesla adaptor. It worked fine, and enabled us to make it to the fast charger on the way home.

I think the grizzly mini has a ton of adapters for the plug side. And it has the ability to limit amps to whatever your outlet is rated for.
