Just dropped my car off at the dealership for 30,000 miles service and they are charging $1000. Does this seem in line or way over? I was expecting a couple hundred bucks at most. I already changed the cabin air filter and don’t need my tires rotated.

**UPDATE and TLDR** I ended up pulling the car from service 5 minutes after I released it for work due to the questionable cost and service they were doing and also calling another dealership inquiring cost for a 30k mile service on a Mach e.

Consensus from the group is overwhelmingly in the camp of this dealership is out of their mind and trying to rip me off. I don't disagree.

There is also a debate on when 3yr brake service (fluid replacement) is needed as there is conflicting data per Fords own maintenance guidance via ford Pass and their website.

You're being ripped off.

Brake fluid is at 3 years. Charger port doesn't need cleaning. Inspection and tire rotation is at most $50, most are less. Cabin air filter is every 20,000 miles and you can do it yourself.

That is what I thought the spidey senses were going off so I walked back to the dealer and am pulling the car. Tires are new so they weren’t even rotating. Thanks for the feedback

Yeah, something is off. Can we see the picture of the bill.

Also they should not do any expensive servicing without your approval.
This is more than a expensive gas car servicing.

I have had a couple of dealers tell me the 30 K service is expensive. There is nothing different on the service schedule except for the brake fluid change-out at 3 years. That isn’t worth $952. My tire swap cost me $48 from my 2021 to my 2024, so I suspect a rotation would be similar. ?‍♂?

Should have been a red flag when transmission flush was on the list and they took it off. They claimed this is what ford recommends at 30k
They LIED. This is all in the manual.

Report them to Ford, and leave bad reviews. Predatory behavior like this needs to stop.

I am at 75K miles and done just a few of the service appointments. Spent $60 max on any of them.

I would complain to Ford about this. Be a Karen. Help someone else. Pay it forward.

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR 30,000 MILES CHECKUP
  • Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag.
  • Inspect cooling system level and strength
  • Inspect tires and check tire pressures.
  • Inspect steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, drive shaft and U-joints. Lubricate if equipped with grease fittings.
  • Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking brake.
  • Perform multi-point inspection.
  • Inspect half-shaft boots.
  • Rotate the tires, inspect tire wear and measure tread depth.
dealer ripoff!
If they actually do a hands- on inspection of all listed items & a rotation….., maybe an hour or so?! Bill P
