Howdy Folks,

My 2023 Mach-E GT PE just turned 6-months old about a week ago, and it seems that the Gremlins are now out. Over the past week or so, I have noticed a couple of things that I cannot recreate and so-far have only happened once. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this issues, or if there are other Gremlins I should be watching out for? The first one happened last Friday, and a rattle suddenly started, and got worse within a few minutes. It sort of sounded like something rattling around in the air vents, but was too slow to actually be that, and I initially thought it was my cup, my phone, or a lose seatbelt causing it. It was none of those, and stopped on its own shortly before I shut the Mach-E off. It has not (knock on wood) happened again. The second one happened yesterday. The temperature here in Texas is hitting triple digits, and when I got to my Mach-E after work, I started it up as normal, and notice that the external temp was being reported as 80F (it was actually closer to 101F), and because my climate control was set to 72F, it did not turn on very high. It was extremely warm inside the cabin, and the system was not cooling it very fast. I had to turn the temp down to 69F to get it to blow harder. After driving for a little while, the external temp caught-up and system worked as expected. Will find out today if this was a one-time glitch or something else. Thanks in advance!

This is how it has always been, the sensor needs air moving over it for a certain amount of time and then it'll update to the correct temperature.

Don’t use “Auto” HVAC setting. Set the fan speed, temp, and recirc the way you want it for best results.

Howdy Neil4Real :),

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post! I am aware of the need for the sensor to have air moving over it for it to register, but in this specific example, it took a lot longer than normal for it to recognize the external temp. Also, it id NOT happen again yesterday, the temp was accurately reported and the AC worked as typically did. What happened on Monday was not normal. It seems that was (yet another) glitch? Thanks!

Auto has 3 speeds (maximum fan speed) If you had it on the slowest speed it's going to take a while.

Howody, fan speed was on 'Auto' :). This happned one more time, and been fine the past couple of days. Plus, I figured out how to force it to runt on MAX AC, which also solves it short term. Appreciate the time you took to respond.

On another note, more gremlins surfaced over the weekend. The most concerning, is that when I was trying to back out of a parking spot, the Mach-E wouldn't shift into drive. The shift know would go from R to P, and a couple of tries to N, but not to D. I backed up a little more, and it eventually left me shift into D. Went through the parking lot and parked at a Target, backed out to straighten up, and again it wouldn't let me shift into D. This time, I put it in P, and turned the car off. When I turned it back on, it worked as expected. This (knock on wood) hasn't happened since Saturday but was unnerving. Also, the dreaded "Drive Mode Unavailable" happened again yesterday. I haven't seen that in a while, and this makes a total of 3 times in 2500 miles.

Auto has 3 speeds...the three bars below auto signify which maximum fan speed version of auto. If you were inadvertantly in the low fan speed version of auto you'll be very disappointed.
